Course Curriculum Overview
The course is quite good but not when compared to other NITs it feels a lot old and unmodified. The curriculum helps get placements and even appear in the GATE exam. Exams are quite easy to pass. In a semester, there is one mid-sem exam and one end sem, the last exam.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are only provided at the end of 6th semester. Every student is provided with a final-year project based on their course. The average monthly stipend is around 30k for an internship which lasts for around 3-6 months.
Placement Experience
Placements are overall good but have seen a certain decline in 2023-24 due to the recession as well as the situation in Manipur. Companies like Amazon, Discovery, and Edfora have visited our campus. The highest package of 47LPA was offered to only one student, while most of the most of the students have got placements under 14LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The semester fee is around 70k for general students, while students from other categories get a remission of two-thirds or the complete fee amount. Students can benefit from several scholarships such as NSP, FFE, etc.
Campus Life
The infrastructure is rickety and undeveloped due to internal corruption. Annual fests rarely happen, but tech fests do happen every year. The library is even smaller than the school library but it contains some useful books. Classrooms are really old and lack modern technologies.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is reasonably priced and offers above-average amenities. Each room is furnished with a bed, a chair, and a table for every student. However, the food in the mess is simply awful in taste and lacks several nutritional factors.
Admission
Admission is only done based on JEE Main, so you have to score a good percentile to get admission to top courses. Since I am an OBC candidate, I got some benefits of reservation. The application form for JEE is available on the NTA website.
Faculty
Faculties are well-versed in their subjects and are often helpful. They have a Ph.D. from prestigious institutes across the globe. Their teaching method is relaxed and they don't put unwanted load on students.
