Eligibility for Admission to B.Tech. Programs
Admissions to B.Tech. Programs are made once a year (in July) through the all-India level Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted by IITs. The procedures and other requirements for admission are specified in the JEE Information Brochure brought out every year.

1. Reservation of Seats and Admission to Reserved Seats for Indian Nationals
Reservation of seats for the various categories shall be in accordance with the policy of the Government of India. The admission process for the reserved seats is as stated below:
(a)	SC and ST Candidates: Reserved seats are filled on the basis of JEE qualifying norms specified for them. In case these reserved seats remain vacant, other SC and ST candidates (who appeared in JEE and satisfy certain relaxed conditions) are offered admission to the Preparatory Course of one-year duration in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English. On completion of the preparatory course and passing of the examination conducted by the Institute, the candidates are offered admission to the first year of B.Tech. Program against the vacant reserved seats of the year of their appearance in JEE.
(b)	Other Backward Classes (OBC) Candidates (Not belonging to creamy layer): Reserved seats are filled on the basis of JEE qualifying norms specified for them.
(c)	PD Candidates: Reserved seats are filled on the basis of JEE qualifying norms specified for them. In case these reserved seats remain vacant, other candidates in their respective categories are offered admission.

IIT Jodhpur - comrehensive review

Getting a good CGPA is very difficult here.
The exams are very tough and we have to work very hard to do well in exams.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The complete cost of education for 4 year Btech course will be around 14 lakhs including tution fees, hostel fees and mess fees along with living expenses. Caste based relaxation in fees is available along with income based relaxation. On campus, one can work as a teaching asistant to earn some money every month.

Fees and Financial Aid:

Fee for the course is a bit high for our family standard but we are taking financial assistance from union bank of India as an educational loan. As I am studying in 1st year of the course I am not able to opt a job.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fee structure is 292000 per year (including the semester fee and mess and hostel fee).But, there are several concessions.Students belonging to reserved categories like SC,ST or OBC are provided these concessions which range from reducing the tuition fee to 1/3 or to remove it altogether.Apart from them, all students whose annual family income is less than 5 lakh rupees are also eligible for fee concession.

I am too confused between CSE at DTU/NSIT and IIT Jodhpur. What should I do?

I can never stop emphasizing this, no matter how many options you have always go for the one that gives you the IIT tag.

I am not saying Engineering colleges like NSIT and DTU aren’t good but they are in the developing phase while IIT Jodhpur is in its developing phase. This means it will only get better. Despite being a new IIT, its average package this year was recorded at INR 21.30 LPA, which is a great feat for a new college.

Additionally, IITs receive more funding from the government to provide better research and project opportunities. Specifically speaking about CSE, this year the highest INR 56 LPA was bagged by BTech CSE. The placement percentage stood at 97% while the average package for CSE was recorded at INR 23 LPA.

DTU and NSIT may have higher placement statistics but they lack what IIT Jodhpur offers, the most coveted IIT tag! So choose wisely.

Which is better: CSE at IIT Jodhpur or IIT Patna?

Both IIT Patna and IIT Jodhpur are well-renowned institutions.

My brother pursued his CSE at IIT Jodhpur. According to him, you will enjoy studying CSE at IIT Jodhpur.

IIT Jodhpur has a great coding culture, ICPC, and many GSoCers.
A large number of IIT Jodhpur alumni are working for Google, Microsoft, and other big organizations.
IIT Jodhpur alumni are even working for Google in California. Such a strong alumni base will provide you with a lot of support and information.
The senior-junior interaction at IIT Jodhpur is also great. The seniors are very helpful and supportive.
There are regular coding competitions and the coding culture is great. The permanent campus is beautiful and is 852 acres in area.
Every student is provided with single accommodation rooms.
IIT Jodhpur holds a tech fest each year in which there are coding competitions on web development, obfuscation, etc.

Which is better, CSE from MNIT Jaipur or mechanical from IIT Jodhpur?

It depends on what it is that you want as both are different subjects. It depends on your preference. According to my cousin who studied CSE at MNIT, if you want a challenging job and you are aiming for PSUs, then mechanical engineering may be good. But the placements of mechanical even in top colleges like IITs will be lower than their CSE counterparts.

If you like corporate sector private jobs in the IT or software sector, then CSE at MNIT Jaipur is a very good option.
Campus placements will be much easier with packages far higher than mechanical.
This does not mean that CSE is an easy subject. It can be difficult especially if you do not have a coding background in your class 11th and 12th.
For that, you need to put extra effort during your graduation.
