Life at IIT Jodhpur

Course curriculum is very thorough at IIT Jodhpur. Moreover the students are very competitive. Teaching method mostly focusses on research and motivates students to go for further studied and research rather than getting a job. Exam difficulty level is medium to hard. However they prepare you for dealing with application based questions.

The total fees for per semester including hostel mess tuition fees is around Rs 1,46,000. The breakdown of the fees is given below: Tuition fees - Rs 100000/- Semester fees - Rs 27,500/- Mess fees - Rs 19,000/- In addition to this you can avail for fee scolarship if you qualify certain criteria.

My overall experience at college was an 8 if we rate it from 1 to 10 with 10 being best and 1 being worst. Campus life is very active considering 2 AM is the in time at night which allows you to spend time with folks. There are tech fest, inter hostel fest, cultural fest, literary fest every year. Moreover allows us to participate in Inter IIT cultural and sports fest.

Hostels provided are pretty new and are comfortable to live in. The college provides single occupancy and air conditioning to make it easier in the summers of jodhpur. Compared to other colleges the fees of IIT Jodhpur is pretty much affordable for the middle class people. Mess quality is good only compared to other colleges.

The main reason for me to choose this college over others is that it is an IIT and I was getting the branch of my choice. Admission process was through JOSAA. Once alloted the college throgh counselling the college send you email to fill your personal details.

Exam structure for each semester is mentioned as given below: 1. There is 1 minor exam of 2 hours and 1 major of 3 hours. 2. Other than this there are quizzes and assignments conducted by each professor according to the course pattern. The number of students failing has been pretty low to my knowledge. The course content is fixed for every course but the course structure depends on the professor teaching and is decided at the start of semester.

Campus in timing is 11 PM at night while hostel in timing is 2 AM. Canteen is open till 2 AM and food court "Shamiyana" is open till 12 AM. There are gyms in almost half of the hostels. And gardens to sit in the campus so that you can hangout with your friends.
