An honest review about Fees, Curriculum, Placements and More

This is a advanced level course and have pre-requisites of courses like: 1. Machine Learning 2. Computer Graphics 3. Computer Vision 4. Python 5. Data Structure and Algorithms 5. Probability, Statistics and Linear Algebra So, I have the understanding of these courses so though to choose this course. Also, AR-VR is the emerging tech so it will add on to career. This course offers fundamental courses of AR-VR like Introduction to AR VR, Intercation and Experience Design for AR-VR, Mobile AR-VR, Haptics etc. Inspite this, the course carriculum also gives you a depth of Computer Vision, Deep Learning, advanced courses like Generative AI. The course runs mostly in week days and few in weekends also. Most of the timing are in afternoon only. The course outline and exam vary from course to course depending on the Prof. but there will be one minor and one major exam along with quizzes and assignments.

Till my tenure, M.Tech students does not get opportunity for internships during the campus. Also, they have to work with their supervisors in most cases. M.Tech students can take permissions from their supervisors if they have some internship opportunity from any company or institute.

There were total 11 students in my batch of M.tech AR-VR. From 3rd semter everyone becomes eleigible for the placements. Almost each of the companies related to IT/CS/AI were allowed us to sit for the placements. Almost each of the students who were looking for placements got the opportunity either through campus or non-campus drive. One student got the PhD opportunity. Rest 10 students got some opportunity in different companies on roles like Softawre Development Engineer, Data Scientist, AI Research Engineer, GenAI Engineer, Research Associate etc.

First Semester Fees: Tution Fees: 13000 (with GATE) 45000 (Self Sponsored) (per semester) Refundable Deposit: 8000 (one time) Admission Fees: 3800 (one time) Semester Fees: 27250 (per semster) Dining Charges: 23600 (per semester) Total: 75650 (with GATE) 107650 (Self Sponsored) For rest three semester: Tution Fees + Semester fees + Dining Charges = 63850 (with GATE) 95850 (Self Sponsored) So, total fees for 2 years: 299200 (with GATE) 395200 (Self Sponsored)

I was actively involved in the events of IIT Jodhpur. Either it have been technical (like Prometeo) or sports (like Varchas) or cultural (like IGNUS) events. My suggestion is to get involve and take positions from first year of your M.Tech for your overall growth. The IIT Jodhpur people are nice and helpful.

You will get AC rooms throughout your course. For the first year you have to manage for double occupancy as it have been introduced from batch of 2026 only. Hostel rooms are quite good and laundry facilities are also available for which you don't have to pay extra. Inside the room you will get bed but you have to purchase your own mattress and bedsheets. .

I choose IIT jodhpur due to connectivity from my home town. I have also offered another course related to AI from another IIT as well but due to issue of connectivity, distance and food, I hadn't opted for that institute. IIT Jodhpur have two way process to enter in M.Tech in AR-VR course, First through GATE and without GATE score.

The school of AI and Data Science have its core faculties and affliated faculties from Department of CSE and also other relevant departments. You have the flexibility to choose 2 open electives from any department or school and other courses are School of AI and Data Science only. The course for upcoming batch will be well oragnised as it will be finish in first year only, but till our time we have to do course work till last semester. So, new revision is good. Course carriculum is good and few new subjects are also being introduced like Python for Data Analytics, Foundations of Vision and Language etc. You will the student to faculty ration it is approx 1:1.

I really enjoyed 2 years of my life at IIT Jodhpur, You can go to gym at anytime in your hostel. You can roam around in the campus till 2:00am and even all nights but after 2:00am you have to mention from where you are coming while entering to the hostel. Students canteen are open till 2:00 am and shamiyana is the centeral cafeteria which will be closed at 12:00am.
