I am too confused between CSE at DTU/NSIT and IIT Jodhpur. What should I do?

I can never stop emphasizing this, no matter how many options you have always go for the one that gives you the IIT tag. I am not saying Engineering colleges like NSIT and DTU aren’t good but they are in the developing phase while IIT Jodhpur is in its developing phase. This means it will only get better. Despite being a new IIT, its average package this year was recorded at INR 21.30 LPA, which is a great feat for a new college. Additionally, IITs receive more funding from the government to provide better research and project opportunities. Specifically speaking about CSE, this year the highest INR 56 LPA was bagged by BTech CSE. The placement percentage stood at 97% while the average package for CSE was recorded at INR 23 LPA. DTU and NSIT may have higher placement statistics but they lack what IIT Jodhpur offers, the most coveted IIT tag! So choose wisely.

Which is better: CSE at IIT Jodhpur or IIT Patna?

Both IIT Patna and IIT Jodhpur are well-renowned institutions. My brother pursued his CSE at IIT Jodhpur. According to him, you will enjoy studying CSE at IIT Jodhpur. IIT Jodhpur has a great coding culture, ICPC, and many GSoCers. A large number of IIT Jodhpur alumni are working for Google, Microsoft, and other big organizations. IIT Jodhpur alumni are even working for Google in California. Such a strong alumni base will provide you with a lot of support and information. Which is better, CSE from MNIT Jaipur or mechanical from IIT Jodhpur?

It depends on what it is that you want as both are different subjects. It depends on your preference. According to my cousin who studied CSE at MNIT, if you want a challenging job and you are aiming for PSUs, then mechanical engineering may be good. But the placements of mechanical even in top colleges like IITs will be lower than their CSE counterparts. If you like corporate sector private jobs in the IT or software sector, then CSE at MNIT Jaipur is a very good option. Campus placements will be much easier with packages far higher than mechanical. This does not mean that CSE is an easy subject. It can be difficult especially if you do not have a coding background in your class 11th and 12th. For that, you need to put extra effort during your graduation. The courses here are very much focussed on students who want to go for research and ignores those who want to get into corporate or any other domain.

The total fees for per semester including hostel mess tuition fees is around Rs 1,46,000. The breakdown of the fees is given below: Tuition fees - Rs 100000/- Semester fees - Rs 27,500/- Mess fees - Rs 19,000/- In addition to this you can avail for fee scolarship if you qualify certain criteria.

For sc,st and pwd students tution fee is free and they have to pay only hostel fee and semester fee which is around 100000 per year I paid around 100000 per year. Tution fee is 200000 per year. For general and obc students there will be fee wavier accordingly Family income less than 1lakh per year,full tution fee wavier. Between 1lakh and 5lakh ,two third remission of tution fee. Above 5 lakhs ,full tution fee 100000 per semester

total fee for year is nearly 300000 . out of which 200000 is semester fee for 2 semester , 54500 is tuition fee and mess fee is 38000 .fee for one who has income less than 5 lakh has to pay 33000 as semester fee and for those who has income less than 1 lakh has to pay null semester fee .

Indian Institute Of Technology Jodhpur Review

The tuition fees per year is 200000 rupess, apart from that we have to pay mess fees of 38,000(which might increase from this year as new vendor will come from next year), also we have to pay 55,000 rupees/yr as semester fees. SC/ST candidates are exempted from paying tuition fees, so they only have to pay mess and semester fees.

I pay 300000 in total for year. My batchmate pays same if they are not in fee remission bracket. They pay approx 65000 if they are from SC/ST. And fee remission is given of whole 200000 Scholarship I don't know any.

Tuition fees in the institute are as per normal regulations and needs of the institution. But at the same time, people with financial issues are provided some compensation through merit cum scholarship as well as provided through NPS support provided by the office of Academic in the institute.

in some last years there is increase in the tution fees every academic year or after two years. Yes various scholarships are provided like refunding of money on the basis of annual family income, scholarships provided by NSP.

IIT Jodhpur - comrehensive review

Getting a good CGPA is very difficult here.
The exams are very tough and we have to work very hard to do well in exams.

The complete cost of education for 4 year Btech course will be around 14 lakhs including tution fees, hostel fees and mess fees along with living expenses. Caste based relaxation in fees is available along with income based relaxation. On campus, one can work as a teaching asistant to earn some money every month.

Fee for the course is a bit high for our family standard but we are taking financial assistance from union bank of India as an educational loan. As I am studying in 1st year of the course I am not able to opt a job.
