All the big brands and big tech giants come to the campus for great opportunity opportunity for students you can apply for placements from the fifth semester itself.
College provides a lot of scholarships like merit cum means scholarship, inspire scholarship, and fee waiver scheme.
The faculty members are really good as they are great researchers in their respective fields.

Dislikes

But, if we talk about scholarship then it's a bad news that there is no institute scholarship for unreserved students but u can get it for other organisations like nsp.
The hostel rooms are also not good enough and lack cleanliness sometimes and have broken chairs/ tables, etc. at times.
The academic workload can be sometimes demanding, not always but sometimes, leading to stress and pressure among students.

My College - By a KGPIAN

Likes

The greenery in the campus, like there are trees everywhere.
The buildings, structures that are build.
The freedom they provide here and the hall culture which is not there in any colleges in India.

Dislikes

Students from south India tend to be in groups and they prevent any other state guy to be with them.
Competition becomes too toxic sometimes .
Since Kharagpur is islated a bit there is no citylife.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose to take up a B.Tech degree from the Department of Civil Engineering. The course is not very difficult but rather it's fun. We don't have a lot to study but whatever we study, we need to focus on that properly. Faculty members are kind and really helpful. As IITians, we start to study just a week before exams and that time is enough if we study diligently. The paper is not very difficult if you're prepared enough.

My Opinion on IIT Kharagpur

Likes

The number of choices in career that a IIT offers is just unbeatable . You can be placed in any field regardless of your field.
Campus Culture of IIT KGP is just best to make you social with a very large community.
Societies and clubs offer quite high soft and hard skills depending on your intrests and capabilities.

Dislikes

Avability of time is very less in IIT KGP which is why you have to be fast.
Competition that we faced in JEE is still continued here at IIT Kharagpur.
Morning classes are just so irritating since we sleep very late at night due to other campus involvments.

My Course is B.Tech in Mining Engineering and it is a quite good Non-tech field, also has lots of scope in India as well as abroad. There is enough faculty to clear all the doubts of the students. All the faculties are helpful. There are 60 students in a class in every department.

IIT Kharagpur- An experience of a lifetime

Likes

Great student quality which includes prodigy from various parts of India.
While the entrance exam is very tough but the culture is not limited to only academics . One can pursue their passion here if they want to.
The quality of classrooms and the freedom they provide .

Dislikes

Bengalis and students from south India tend to form their own groups.
No city life . Kharagpur is only known for its railway station and this IIT.
Competition is too much and it becomes toxic afterwords.

Placement Experience:

7th semester for Btech students and 9th semester for dual degree students. Various companies like Microsoft, Google, McKinsey, and offers are around 1500-1600 including all the companies. The highest package was 2.68 cr for the 2022 - 2023 placement season and the average was around 15-16 lakhs per annum. around 80 percent. My plan after my degree is to continue with my job.

Evergreen campus with an area of around 2200acres
Best infrastructures like Nalanda complex and Nehru Museum
The Food quality and Mess menu is very good

Dislikes

Distance between hostel and classroom is large
big snakes can be seen during rainy season
hostels need to be renovated from time to time

I chose this course because of my interest. The student-faculty ratio is around 1:100. The professors are highly qualified and have very interesting teaching methods. There is one mid-sem and one end sem and the difficulty of exams depends on the subjects.

I liked the infrastructure and beauties of this college
You can called our college a mini town because its spread in more than 2250+ acre
Seniors are so helping in our college if you in any society you will learn a lot of things

Dislikes

Sometimes if you do something disrespectfull with seniors. They can destroy your career
This campus is so huge and we have only bicycle to ride
After 1st year if your attendance is not good they will treat you as a duffer

Placement Experience:

I am enrolled in a 4-year btech course. So I can sit for placements in my 6th semester. If you are enrolled in a 5-year dual degree course you can sit for placements in your 8th semester. More than 500+ companies come to our college for placements. All big companies like Amazon, google, tomato, etc.

our campus is spread in more than 2250+ acres and it's full with Beauty.
seniors in our college are so helpful they help you in every situations

Dislikes

professor are so strict for attendance if your attendance is low they will treat you bed
in this huge campus we have only bicycle to ride
sometimes seniors can be trouble for you.

Placement Experience:

placement in our college is decent good. Myu course is a 5 year course so i can apply for placement in my 8th semester. if your course is 4 year course you can seat in placement in your 6th semester. more than 500+ comapnies comes in our college every year for placements.

Beauty of this campus is so adorable you can walk all night here.
Our campus library is the biggest libaray in asia. It contains more than 2 lakh books.

Dislikes

This campus so large and they don't allow us to ride motorbike.

Friends and memories and iit tag and the perks of it.
I like the bonding in out hostel and we stay together as a family.
I like the open minded nature of the campus where we are not barred from doing anything and there are no in or out times.

Dislikes

Mess food could be better and quality needs to be maintained.
There are non many attractive things outside the campus.
Recreational things could be built inside the campus.

Placement Experience:

Student are eligible for campus placement in the first semester of their final year. More than 150 companies visited offering more than 2000 offers. Highest package was 2.64cr pa and the median is about 19 lpa Percentage placement is about 80% while many opt for research and further studies. Placement is my plan as of now.

I like the infrastructure of this college they gave us 1960s vibe.
This campus is so beautiful. You can roam here without anythin.
Seniors of this college are very good except some seniors.

Dislikes

This campus is so huge. And they don't allow us to carry motorbik.
In this college many people smoke and do illegal things.
Sometimes senior can ruin you by just their experience.

Placement Experience:

For a one-year course you can apply for placement in 6th semester and five a five-year course you can apply in the 8th semester. In our college, more than 500+ companies come for recruitment. Everyone does here it or software.
