- It Academics and extracurricular activities
- It's infrastructure and beautiful campus
- It provides all opportunities to examine our intrest
Dislikes
- It's academic load during exams and tough academic course
- Single library for all students may create more difficulty to get some seat during exams
- In some areas during night time there are lack of lights
Placement Experience:
IIT KANPUR stands 4th rank among all the engineering colleges in India by NIRF ranking. From 7th semester onwards students becomes eligible for placements . All 1st class company visit our college including Google, Facebook, Ai and all other IT companies. in Last year arround 958 students get placement offers.Our Highest package is arround 2 Cr. Per annum and minimum package of 18 lakhs . Our college have good percentage of placed students of 90% . My future plans are to get into an it software company.

- The freedom which we get in IIT Kanpur campus.
- Infrastructure and all lab facilities we get.
- Various events and fests in which we enjoy to the fullest.
Dislikes
- Rooms are quite conjusted but you will get use to it.
- Academics are quite tough as compared to other colleges.
- Some unnecessary courses increases student's pressure for good grades
Placement Experience:
Campus placement are obviously nice here. In year 2022 highest package of 4cr is offered here. Average package is also more than 25 lpa. And about 60-70% students get placements. After completing my degree I will also look for a good placement.

- One of the best thing at the campus is the Open Air Theatre(OAT). Movie screening at OAT give another level of vibe with friends
- Relative grading is also a game changer in academics and also impacts the campus life in general by reducing the load on students
- Freedom is at another level at the campus, you can go out of the institute and hostel at any time(even at 2:00 am) without any restriction which allowed to have many nighouts.
Dislikes
- Professors at the institute have too much power at the institute. They decide the syllabus for the course and give grades according to themselves and sometimes it is much like a dictatorship.
- The shops inside the campus charge a lot more than normal price which increases the cost of living.
- The hostel are not up to mark considering that it is an institution of national importance in India.
Placement Experience:
Students become eligible for placement after the 7th semester. The placement percentage is also top notch. More than 80% of the students who sit for placement are placed(for CSE students, it is generally above 95%).
Offers are made by companies like Goldman Sachs, Qualcomm, Nvidia, Deloitte, etc. for roles like software engineer, consultant, data analyst, etc.
The highest package offered is 2 crores(the 4 crore package was of off-campus placement) with an institute average of 26 lpa. Branch-wise, the highest package is offered to CSE branch, with MTH and EE following it.

- the life at campus and the faculty and the fests. we get freedom to do anything we want and explore in the campus and outside even at night. the seniors are very helpful and guiding. the family culture of iit kanpur is amazing. and no ragging system.
Dislikes
- the frequent exams and the grading system is very difficult. it is very difficult to get a good cpi.
Placement Experience:
placemts are good in the campus but since i have not experienced it personally i can tell according to data that 60 to 70 percent get placed and the highest package is 4 cr and it is international by microsoft.

- I liked the environment at the campus, the cleanliness, security all are the best things over here.
- Studies over here mainly focus upon practical knowledge and skill enhancing. There is proper schedule for everything.
- Here a student can explore ever field he is interested in through clubs or teams weather it is sports, cultural or science and technology.
Dislikes
- Sometimes there is very pressure because of exams as there are exams and quizzes like every month.
- There are some useless courses in 1st year like physical exercise or Technical arts as they are no use for a cse student.
Placement Experience:
1. Placements are one of the best things about this college. Every year the placements are excellent.
2. A lot of companies visit for placements including big companies like Google, Facebook, Microsoft etc.
3. This year highest package was nearly 4cr average was 22lpa and lowest was 8lpa.
Almost 80% of students gets placed during placement season.
4. A student becomes elegible for placements after 7th semester.
5. My plan is to get good placement after passing out.

- Chill environment between Male and female students making it easier to socialize and build network.
- Green lush campus and a lot of opportunities which you can explore and pursue
- Seniors junior interaction are very helpfull in every insights and help without any trouble
Dislikes
- The acads part and the intrest part don't go together all the time and you have to manage it
- There are a lot of diffrent kind of people and not everytime you have a good luck.
- You might have difficulty In beginning for understanding the curriculum
Placement Experience:
4th year makes a student officially eligible for campus placements.Each year several companies such as Google ,Microsoft ,Bently, Boeing, Razor pay, Bain and Co. Come to campus and takes up almost 80-90 %of the students studying.Highest package offered this year in offshore is 1.1Cr and least being 12L
I will be looking forward towards job in a management firm.

What is your review of the earth sciences department at IIT Kanpur?

The Earth Sciences is a Department imparting education related to the study of Earth and its geological reliefs. The best part about this Department is that every course here overlaps with some or the other course of other departments making it a multifaceted one.
Earth Sciences curriculum overlaps with many courses in Material Science and Physics, Civil and Chemical, and even Electrical and CSE. This provides diversity in the overall learning experience of the course making it very interesting.
The only major issue is that due to common courses, the curriculum is vague and has no well-defined structure and content. We hope that this flaw is taken care of in the near future.
The program provides versatile job prospects even in the field of Satellite Remote Sensing, weather prediction, and geothermal power plants.

Is IIT Guwahati becoming the next IIT Kanpur?

Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur are well-respected institutions, known for their high-quality education and research. Comparing the two is already justified and saying that one institution is becoming the next of the other is more so. Both institutions have their strengths and areas of expertise. Yet, if I was to choose one I would have always gone for IIT Kanpur.
Some points that favor my preference are as follows:
- The quality of coursework at IIT Kanpur is extremely challenging and will keep you on your toes always. It offers the best quality of education and you will learn much more than other IITs if you are regular to classes and take your academics seriously,
- The usual schedule of a student at IIT Kanpur is not always jammed, unlike the general opinion. The timings of the clubs align with the classes and you can take out time for both if you are good at managing your time well.
- Another challenging aspect of IIT Kanpur is its tough grading system, (10,8,6,4..) under which anything below 10 is 8. Thus you are under tremendous pressure to maintain your CGPA and is enough of a motivating factor.
Overall, even if Guwahati was to be compared to IIT Kanpur, it still has a long way to go until it becomes the next IIT Kanpur.
