- the life at campus and the faculty and the fests. we get freedom to do anything we want and explore in the campus and outside even at night. the seniors are very helpful and guiding. the family culture of iit kanpur is amazing. and no ragging system.
Dislikes
- the frequent exams and the grading system is very difficult. it is very difficult to get a good cpi.
Course Curriculum Overview
in my coolege the first year students have same type of courses with slight varaition in physics subject and then from the 2nd year the study about their respective fields.i choose civil engineering course because of my interest in this particular subject i like studying about buildings and infrastuctures. the faculties are highly experienced and provide best information and could be easily reached by students. my batch has around 1200 students including all departments. each faculty is highly qualified and experienced and we get to study from our seniors as our tutors but i think that the teaching method could be improved to make classes more intersting.the exams are conductes frequently there are two parts of one semester and each part has quizes and then exams and the difficulty of exams is high according to me.
Internships Opportunities
the campus provedes good internship and most of the students do it in 3rd year of their course. while many of them do internship off campus to get better stipend. the field of projects are not specific for branches but students who have caliber to persue the project can do it.
Placement Experience
placemts are good in the campus but since i have not experienced it personally i can tell according to data that 60 to 70 percent get placed and the highest package is 4 cr and it is international by microsoft.
Fees and Financial Aid
students whose famil's anuual income is more than 5 lacks have to give the total fees that is around 115000 per semester and is quite high i think but one with less income than 5 lacks can get scolarship in tuition fees that is 100000. and for the students studying in bs branches get inspire scholarship provided that you have scored a rank under 10000 in jee advanced.
Campus Life
fests in my college are amazing. it is my best time in college when fest are running such as the cultural fest antaragni,tech fest techriti and sports fest udghosh. the library is huge with almost all kind of books we want to study and it is very easy to search on the wibsite of the library. the life is very social and friendly. it is very rare that students fight even verbally.we can play any sports we want and there are al kind of equipments for sports and coaches.there are many clubs and active societies run by students such as music club,programming club,finance club,fine arts club,speedcubing club and many more.
Hostel Facilities
my room has a big window with good vantilation decent lighting,an almira and two cupbords and two tables with three chairs and we 3 students live in one room.the meal is very delicious and the variety is decent.we pay advanced fees in starting of semester.in mess we can get extra items by paying extra money.
Admission
i had to give jee advanced exam and had to score decent marks in it and this exam could be given only if you have passes jee mains exams and you get 2 chances to give jee advanced.then i filled the jossa counscelling form from its website itself and opted my college acoording to my jee advanced rank.i am an obc category student so i got resevation to get my admission. if i could get a good counscelling to choose my branch and my college it would have been vee=ry much helpful for me to get clarity.
