Aspirants can apply through the admission portal of the university (cfr.annauniv.edu) with an application fee of INR 1000 for Gen candidates & SC/ST candidates of other states and INR 600 for SC/ST/SCA category candidates of Tamil Nadu.
International Cooperative Graduate Program (ICGP) Admission: National Institute of Material Science (NIMS) Japan has introduced ICGP exclusively for full-time PhD Research Scholars. Interested candidates must submit the application forms along with the required documents on or before Dec 2, 2024 to the Director of Centre of International Relations, Anna University - [AU]. Anna University PG Admission 2024
Anna University offers ME, M.Tech, M.Plan, M.Arch, MBA, MCA, and M.Sc degree programs at the PG level. The basic eligibility criteria for PG admission at Anna University is to have a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field from a recognized university/institute. Admissions will be based on an entrance exam, conducted by Anna University on behalf of the Tamil Nadu government. Admission to ME, M.Tech, M.Plan, and M.Arch programs will be based on the Common Engineering Entrance Test for Admission (CEETA PG). Anna University PG Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates with BE/ B.Tech in the relevant discipline with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PH) from a recognized university OR Diploma with an AMIE degree along with two years of work experience are eligible to apply for the PG program like ME, M.Tech, and M.Sc
- Those who have completed their qualifying degree through distance or weekend mode are not eligible to apply.

Anna University M.Phil., MS by Research & Ph.D. Admission 2024
MS by Research & PhD courses are offered under Centre for Research (CFR) two times in a year. M.Phil is offered at PG level in different disciplines.
For admission to the M.Phil program, a Master’s degree in the same or related field of research is required. For admission to the M.Phil. program, candidates’ previous academic record will also be put under review. Candidates with an exceptional academic record will be selected.
Candidates with Master’s degree or an M.Phil degree in the same or related field are eligible to apply. Selection to the Ph.D. program is based on the performance of candidates’ in the written test conducted by the University followed by an interview.
Admission to these programs are granted on the basis of candidates’ performance in the entrance test conducted by the University. I have applied many colleges and have invited by most reputed institutions but due some personal issues I am unable to to that college at the time of admission, here I have admitted later through managent quota and the addmission process was very simple

I applied to colleges like PSG and AMRITA but i couldn't clear the entrance exam.People who are writing these exams should first acknowledge the portions from the institution itself which will be helpful.The admission process in my college will start from your 12th result only if you have over 75% in the main subject you can apply into this college.Then ypu have to write the exam and if you score well you will be called for an interview and you will get a call if you clear those interviews.write every entrace exams which you are aware of and you might get an idea of thise exams.

Since I'm north indian i didn't know much about the college. Now while I'm studying in it. It's very boring for me because there is no campus life maybe there is for Tamil people or who knows Tamil language but for me it's very boring. The college i applied for are better than this in terms of infrastructure mess food & maybe in campus life. In Anna University counseling, CBSE students are not given any special consideration. Officially, they claim that CBSE students' grades are moderated, but the process is as follows. They take into account the highest mark obtained by a student in that subject across India. Because it will be 100, if you get 85, your grade will not change.
The CBSE cut-off is calculated in such a way that,
((Mathematics marks) + ((Physics + Chemistry marks)/2))
As a result of the cut-off calculation, CBSE students are always at a significant disadvantage when competing with state board students. Even if a student achieves 95 in each of the three subjects, the cut-off is 190, which is low when compared to state board students.
The following are some of the other options:
SSN has its own meritorious management quota. If you are chosen, you will be subjected to a test and an interview.
Many other colleges, such as Loyola and Rajalakshmi, provide meritorious management seats that you can apply for.
How can I (Outside State) get admission in Anna University?
Other state (OS) students have two main ways to get admissions into Anna University.
Through Other State Quota: Only government colleges can be availed through this. About 2-3 seats are available only for each department. The counselling procedure is based on home state 12 equivalent marks.
Through Home State Quota: This way allows any other students to participate in counselling along with home state students provided that they fill certain criteria. The criteria for this is that
- the students should not have presumed his education of 8,9,10,11,12 classes or equivalent in Tamil Nadu
- His father or mother should have a ration card with candidate name in Tamil Nadu.
- The candidate has to show a nativity certificate with signatures of VO, tahsildar and many others to attend counselling.
The cutoff through the second method is set based on marks he scored on 12 equivalent exams.

What is the procedure for Ph.D. at Anna university?
The following is the procedure:
1: You must obtain permission from recognized supervisors at Anna University in your relevant research area to guide you.
2: You must wait for a call from Anna University regarding your Ph.D. admission.
3: After receiving a call from Anna University for Ph.D. admission, you must complete the forms online in accordance with the guidelines.
4: Anna University will send you an invitation to the examination as well as a presentation of your research plans.
5: Following that, Anna University will contact you to schedule an admissions interview based on how well you performed on the written test and in presenting your research.
6: Before admission, the certificate must be verified. They will admit you on the same day as your certificate is verified.
7: You must hold your first doctoral committee meeting after being admitted to the college where your supervisor is a professor. At this meeting, the members of the committee will suggest a four-course curriculum based on your research. A semester is limited to two courses that you can register for. The four courses can be finished in a total of two years.
8: After finishing the four courses recommended by the doctoral committee members and the research you need to do beforehand, you must conduct a second doctoral committee meeting. Within three years of the date of registration, you must develop new algorithms to analyze your research findings and conduct the third doctoral committee.
9: To submit your research, you must hold a third doctoral committee meeting (Synopsis Meeting). You must present the doctoral committee members with a copy of the Journals Published in Anna University Annexure I List on that day. Three years is the maximum amount of time that can pass between your second doctoral committee meeting (Research Confirmation Meeting) and third doctoral committee meeting (Synopsis Meeting). From the registration date, it typically takes 5 to 6 years for people to attend this meeting.
10: Anna University will review your publications and research findings one month after the third doctoral committee meeting. Following that, you will have three months from the third doctoral committee meeting to submit your thesis.
11: The thesis must be submitted within three months of the third doctoral meeting (Synopsis Meeting). Your thesis must be turned in, and the members of the doctoral committee will review it.
12: It will take you more than three months to hear back from your Indian and Foreign Examiners. after receiving favorable recommendations from the Indian and Foreign Examiners.
13: In the Supervisor College, you must hold a Viva Voce Meeting with one subject expert and an Indian Examiner who will be evaluating your thesis. They will present you with an award that day.
