ABOUT IIT(ISM) DHANBAD

Likes

i liked the campus and the relationship which we have with our seniors and juniors
apart from academics we have many other great opputunities
our student activity centre where we play sports everyday

Dislikes

initially you will have to follow certain rules in pretext of what they call as culture
you have to maintain a certain level of discipline with seniors
you will have to study the subjects on your own

Placement Experience:

placements are good for all branches but they are exceptionally good for branches like petroleum engineering, and mining, and the intern history is good, and many opportunities in the non-core sector. nearly 70% of students get placed.

Likes

The college culture and the Fest are the most priortised.
The availability of cultural and technical clubs
The Friends society and the bonding along with the senior - junior relationships.

Placement Experience:

The placement culture is healthy in our college. The steady competition among students helps them in achieving placements at a greater level compared to other colleges. The placement and the Intern season are actively awaited by students.

Likes

I really liked the library and the way it is maintained
I really love spending time with nature and there is a lot greenery in our campus.
I adore the connections with alumni that this campus has

Dislikes

The hostels are old and need to be renovated
The work is generally done slowly here and that delays things.
The criterion for 75% attendance is too much

Course Curriculum Overview:

The faculty members are amazing and pay full attention to all my questions. The courses are really interesting and keep us updated with modern problems and their solutions. Overall I really feel this Course will help me out.

College Campus is quite amazing and it's really great to roaming around.
Sports and cultural facilities are quite amazing.
Placements and internship opportunities are far better than many College.

Dislikes

No availability of airport in the city.
Dhanbad city is really poor. No places to visiting
Availability of veg food is really less.

Placements are quite good but the quality is decreasing year by year. Google, sprinkler, salesforce, etc. Visited our campus on day 0 which is quite amazing. The highest package is offered by GOOGLE which is 56 lakh inr and the average package of IIT(ISM) DHANBAD is 8 lakh inr.

IIT ISM DHANBAD at its best.

Likes

The campus is beautiful with so much greenery.
The newly built hostel is great and probably the best.
The faculties are great and highly skilled.

Dislikes

The campus in-time at night should be increased .
The campus is situated at a place where nothing is great outisde the campus.
The boys to girls ratio should be increased.

Placement Experience:

Students from the 8th semester get eligible for placements, however right from the start of the 5th semester, they can go for intern and then try for pre-placement offers. There are 150+ companies visiting the campus for every branch and almost every company gives a job offer. The highest package is something around 60 lpa with a average package around 20-25 lpa. Students from every branch get decent placement. To go for a government job.

one of the top engineering institutes in India. It has a strong academic reputation and its graduates are highly sought-after by employers.
vibrant student life with a variety of clubs and societies. This provides students with opportunities to get involved in extracurricular activities and to meet new people.
strong alumni network that can help students find jobs and get advice on their careers.

Dislikes

IIT ISM Dhanbad is a very competitive institute. This can be stressful for students who are not used to academic pressure.
cost of living in Dhanbad is relatively high. This can be a financial burden for students who are not from wealthy families.
located in Dhanbad, which is a remote city in eastern India. This can be a challenge for students who are not used to living in a small town.

Placement Experience:

The placement record of IIT ISM Dhanbad is very good. In the 2023 placement season, 1,082 students out of 1,154 registered students were placed. The highest salary package offered was INR 56 LPA and the average salary package was INR 16.98 LPA.

Me and my college

Likes

In the IIT ISM , I like the library and ground .
In the campus I like the sports and hostels .
In the campus there are many hostels and building

Dislikes

In the hostel, I don't like the mess food.
College campus is also too short than other iits .
Placement is also low than the other iits .

Placement Experience:

After clearing the 6th semester, students are eligible for campus placements. Google, Microsoft, Amazon, etc. companies visited. In my college highest package was 46 lacs and the average package was 20 lacs.

IIT ism Dhanbad

Likes

Heritage building which is good to see all of the students like it. It is the mining department.
Library it is the India largest library the environment is good to read.
Nlhc the classes will be conducted here the classes are big .

Dislikes

Meals some days food will be not so good it becomes hard that day.
Labs are not so much good there are many equipment will not be available.
Outside of Dhanbad it is not so much good and it takes long journey from home.

Placement Experience:

College placements are there it starts in September and ends in April most of the students get the placements. If you have a good cgpa and skills. Our college placement growth is growing. For sde roles, students apply more.

Likes

a really good campus life or the best you can say.
lush green campus which provide a very good environment
best alumni network, our alumni network has been appointed at the best and reputed posts at great firms.

Dislikes

our campus is 100 year old so infra is not that good.
strict attendance policy one have to have atleast 75% attendance to appear in the exam
curfew timing are strict. one have to enter the college before 10 pm

We have really good placement in our college not only in the coding companies but also in the core companies. 324+ companies visited our college. All the big companies visit our college. we have an overall average package of 18lpa.

Iits supremacy

Likes

I liked the campus. My campus is very big it was stablish in 1926 by Britishers
It has very good infrastructure in every field . Vet good faculties
You can explore your interest likes singing dancing photography

Dislikes

It is situated in outer area. Its near by area is not so developed
In nearby not any famous place to visit or not much good places exist to visit
Here near by airport is very far from campus so it's vet difficult to travel through flight

Placement Experience:

In starting of the 5th semester companies will come for an internship highering you can get a very good stipend company will take you for 3 months approx it will give you training. You can get up to 2 lakhs stipend.

Which one is better, IIT Dhanbad for ECE or IIT Bhubaneswar for electrical?

IIT Dhanbad ranks 15th among the Engineering category by NIRF 2019. It is a much older establishment than IIT Bhubaneswar. The fee structure for BTech in ECE at IIT Dhanbad is 2,30,120 for one year. It Requires a JEE ranking of 3000-10000 for ECE. The ECE department of IIT Dhanbad has seen 60% placement of students with an average annual salary package of 15 lakhs per annum and highest being 39 lakhs per annum. IIT Dhanbad has a total of 332 faculty members who are highly qualified and experienced members. Out of total, 315 members are Ph.D. holders.

IIT Bhubaneswar ranks 17th in the Engineering category by NIRF 2019. It is one of the newer IITs. The students with JEE ranking between 2000-7000 are eligible for Electrical Engineering in IIT Bhubaneswar. IIT Bhubaneswar in 2019 has seen 89% placement in the Civil Engineering Department with an average annual salary package of 11 lakhs per annum, 39 lakhs per annum being the highest. Thus, IIT Dhanbad will be a better option to study ECE than Electrical Engineering from IIT Bhubaneswar because, Being one of the oldest established IITs, IIT Dhanbad is known for its quality of education and their campus life. It also has better and more experienced faculty members.
