CEPT University, also known as the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology, is located in Gujarat's capital city, Ahmedabad. CEPT University provides undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degree programs in the natural and developed environments of human society, as well as related disciplines. CEPT University focuses on Architecture, Planning, Design, Technology, and Management, with separate faculties for each.

CEPT University accepts students based on a national entrance exam and university selection criteria. Candidates can easily take admission through NATA, JEE Main, GUJCET, GATE, and GRE scores in the relevant admission year. ACPC and CEPT University are in charge of filling B.Arch seats. ACPC fills 50% of seats based on students' state-level rankings, whereas CEPT University fills seats using the NATA.

B.Arch is the flagship course offered by the CEPT University. Candidates seeking admission to CEPT University must pass an architecture aptitude test (NATA) administered by the Council of Architecture. Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following: Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, IT, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies, etc., or passed a 10+3 Diploma with Mathematics as a compulsory subject with at least 45% aggregate marks.

CEPT University B.Arch Admission 2026

CEPT University's flagship program is B.Arch. Candidates must pass the aptitude test, i.e., NATA/ACPC + Merit List, and have a 10+2 grade point average of 50% or 45% in the reserved category. There are 120 seats available in the B.Arch program. ACPC and GoG will fill 25% of the total seats, while CEPT University will fill 75% (All India Seats).

Admission to the B.Arch program is based on the completion of the 10+2 and diploma requirements.

Educational Qualification (10+2):

  • Must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following:
    • Chemistry / Biology / Technical Vocational Subject / Computer Science / Information Technology / Information Practices / Engineering Graphics / Business Studies.
  • A minimum of 45% aggregate marks is required.

Educational Qualification (Diploma Route):

  • Must have passed a 10+3 Diploma with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.

Entrance Test Requirement for National Candidates:

  • Must have a valid NATA score as conducted by the Council of Architecture (CoA).

For International Schooling (Outside India):

  • Must fulfill CoA's minimum eligibility criteria.
  • The qualification must be equivalent as per the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.

CEPT University UG Admission 2026

CEPT University provides BUD, B.Tech {Hons.}, and B.Des. courses at the undergraduate level. Except for BUD and B.Des, 50% of seats in all UG courses are filled using ACPC guidelines established by the Gujarat government, and 50% using CEPT University regulations. Eligibility for M Arch & MA (Conservation and Regeneration)

  • Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination B.Tech (Structural, Civil), B. CEPT University M.Arch Selection Criteria 2026

The admission process has two stages:

Stage I – Shortlisting

  • Your application, portfolio, and documents will be reviewed by an expert panel.
  • You must meet the minimum marks criteria (55% for General, 50% for Reserved).
  • Portfolios will be checked for originality (no plagiarism allowed).
  • Some top candidates may receive direct admission or scholarship consideration at this stage.

Stage II – Final Selection

CEPT University PG Courses 2026

CEPT University offers full-time M.Tech and M.Des programs in a variety of disciplines at the postgraduate level. The M.Tech program includes Student Exchange programs to enhance the learning experience. The minimum eligibility requirement is a bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline. For M.Tech admission, candidates will be shortlisted based on the CEPT Entrance Test, followed by counseling. For M.Des, candidates must take both the CEPT Common Design Aptitude Test and the CEPT Subject-Specific Design Aptitude Test.

CEPT also provides several M.Plan Master's programs. M.Plan is available in the following fields: urban planning, urban infrastructure, urban transportation, housing, and design. Master of Management Studies (MMS) in Urban Management can be combined with an M.Arch in Architecture, History Research, Conservation and Regeneration, Housing Design, Architectural Tectonics, or Landscape Architecture. Admissions are granted based on Academic Score, Course Purpose, and recommendation, followed by an interview, as specified in each program's admission procedure. The university follows a common application process for all the courses offered at the UG/PG and Doctoral levels. Follow these steps to apply online:

NOTE: The application fee is INR 3500/- for the first application and INR 1000/- for every subsequent application for the Postgraduate Programs. For the Undergraduate programs, the application fee is INR 1500 for all applications. Candidates can apply for more than one program.

Ques. How does the seat distribution work for reserved categories in the Ph.D. program at CEPT University?

Ans. CEPT follows the Government of India reservation norms. Reserved category applicants (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD) are eligible for relaxation in eligibility marks (minimum 50% instead of 55%) and may receive preference during shortlisting, subject to available seats in their chosen research area.

Ques. Is the counseling session mandatory for M.Tech applicants at CEPT University?

Ans. Yes. The counselling is compulsory for students to get admission to the M. Tech course. The students who shall qualify for the CEPT Entrance Test and the subsequent stages of the admission procedure will be called for a counselling session after the announcement of the results. The students must appear physically on the given date of the counselling. No form of relaxation shall be permitted in this context.

Ques. How to get admission for the PG course in architecture at CEPT University?

Ans. The entire application process takes place online. The applicant submits a resume, GATE score, academic background information, two references, personal names, and a portfolio. If shortlisted for the interview round, applicants can choose between an offline or online Skype interview. The final result of the interview round could take 3-4 weeks.

Ques. What is the competition level like for getting into the CEPT University MUM program?

Ans. Admission to the Master’s in Urban Management (MUM) is competitive. Applicants are evaluated on CAT/MAT/CMAT scores, academic record, work experience, and performance in UMAT, along with a personal video and interview.
