Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is very up-to-date. New modules are added every year based on industry requirements. The curriculum decisions are independent of the board, so new changes can be added quickly. From the second year onwards, the studios are revised every semester with new studios being added every semester. Feedback from students is also incorporated while designing the curriculum.

Internships Opportunities

4

Cept University tends to hire a lot of students from Cept. One can intern in the campus or choose a design studio to work with. A lot of the faculty who teach at Cept are also part of the industry and have good connections. Their network gives students an opportunity to find their niche and intern in design studios across the globe. There are also exchange programs with foreign universities, which gives students an opportunity to build their network in different places.

Fees and Financial Aid

A fee of 1.75 lakhs has to be paid every semester. It can be paid together or over four instalments. The yearly fee comes up to 3.5 lakhs. There are scholarships based on merit which require you to maintain a certain GPA for it to continue on. There are also scholarships available for the lower income strata. More details of that can be viewed on the official website of cept. Campus jobs are posted by the student service office and those who wish to apply can opt for them. Students from the 4th and 5th years can also intern as teaching assistants in various studios at the university.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus has a lot to offer. There are various student-based clubs like the reading club, the music club, natakbaazi (a theatre club), misfits (a dance crew) and sports clubs. There is the annual CFL football league, an inter-department football series. There are also basketball matches held at the weekends. There are fests hosted by each of the faculty and pan-campus fests like Pipedream and roots. The library at Cept is a highlight. The campus has a state-of-the-art library with individual reading spaces and a very soothing atmosphere. The collection of books is very large with tie-ups with other libraries in the city and on online platforms as well to access certain articles. Overall, campus life is pretty enjoyable, with something always going on in some part of the campus that is open to all.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

I stay in a pg near the college. The food provided here is basic, not the best but cannot complain. You get used to it over a while. The quality of the food is not bad. The Cept girls hostel does not include food. There are no individual washrooms, with six washrooms on each floor. The rooms are spacious though with single and double occupancy options.

Admission

For the design students, the entrance was based on uceed scores. A merit list was made based on these scores and admission was given in that order. For the architecture and planning departments, it was based on nata and jee was required for the faculty of technology.

Faculty

4

The faculty-to-student ratio in the first year, which is common for everyone is 1: 15. All the faculty have a postgraduate degree with a lot of experience in their respective fields. From the second year onwards, the ratio becomes 1: 12 or 1: 10 depending on the studio selected. Interaction with the faculty is on a one- one feedback basis with faculty giving feedback on all the work that you have produced. The teaching assistants are available on all days to guide and helping us with the process.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Nid follows a old style curriculum which has its own pros and cons. Here we prefer sticking to the basics in the beginning we believe in building our base rather than rushing. We imply more of practical knowledge rather than theoretical basically we experiment live with our ideas a lot and we are allowed to explore anything that we are interested in
