Life at CEPT: A student's perspective

The course curriculum at CEPT is highly relevant and fairly comprehensive. One of the main reasons i chose CEPT was due to the unique studio based learning, which emphasies on design thinking, problem solving, real life applications instead of purely theoretical knowledge

There are placements available and it depends solely from one course to another. Same goes to the percentage of placements and the packages available. But for the Bachelor's of technology the package is around 4-5LPA

The year wise fees paid in general category is around 2.5 lakhs for each semester making it 5 lakhs for the entire year. The caution fees is 1.25 lakhs. For other backward categories it's comparitively lesser decresing the fees by 40% .From the second year onward the fees increases by 3-5% annually. So the overall course fee for Bachelor's in Civil is around 25-30 Lakhs. Scholarships are provided on merit basis for the first two ranks who have applied for the course. Scholarships can also be applied after the admission which will be on basis of family income and other factors

There are many fests and clubs available in CEPT. And multiple festival events arranged as well. All these are managed by students themselves. Many sports matches events between on course to another also occurs.

In the hostel the room is provided with a bathroom and two beds with matress shared with two per room. There are desks provided with chairs and two cupboards. There is a mess in the hostel but it is to be seperately paid and does not come under the hostel fees. There are two busses which move from the hostel to the campus. The rooms and bathrooms are cleaned once a day

I chose CEPT due its unique academic model and reputation of its design-based learning approach. I applied to a couple other universities but did not make it due to the JEE cut-off or failed to clear the interview. But i did make the JEE cut off in CEPT university. Other exams accepted here are NATA UCEED and gujarat state exams.

The faculty to student ratio is 1:10. The faculties are very approachable. There are no exams in first year as it is for building our foundation (unless you take technology there will be exams). But if you do not clear the first year with minimum credits required you will be asked to retake the entire year once more. And if you by chance fail to get the required grade in a module in the first year you will have to take extra classes.

There are two cafeteria's in the campus, one providing south indian food items another providing north indian food items, but not just that there are a variety of food provided. Since the campus is open 24/7 and some students need to work all day there are no campus timings and the same goes for the hostel. CEPT being located in Ahmedabad it is one of the safest cities in India.
