IIT Delhi MTech Eligibility

  • The Candidates must have a bachelor's degree/ B.E./ B.Tech or equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate or 6 CGPA on a 10-point scale and 55% or 5.50 CGPA for SC/ ST/ PwD category from any institution recognized by the UGC.
  • The students should have taken PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) in 12th standard and should have passed 1st class with not less than 60% marks in 12th standard (HSC).
  • In addition to the requirement of qualifying degree marks/CGPA candidate should have obtained not less than 60% in all previous degrees and diplomas.
  • Students from non-textile backgrounds should have qualifying degrees relevant to M.Tech. programs of the Department.
  • For admission to part-time and sponsored M.Tech. programs the candidates must have at least one year of post-qualification work experience.
  • The candidates seeking admission to part-time M.Tech are required to submit a “No Objection Certificate (NOC)” on a proper letterhead from the appropriate authority in the organization.
  • Candidates seeking admission in full-time (sponsored) program must submit a “Sponsorship certificate” on a proper letterhead from the appropriate authority in the organization.
  • M.Sc./B.Tech. from CFTI with a CGPA of 8 and above, the requirement of qualification through a national examination is waived off.

IIT Delhi MTech Selection Criteria

  • IIT Delhi accepts admission to the M.Tech programs through the GATE Score of relevant years. After clearing the exam students must undergo a counselling process by COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal) for the further selection process. Based on the GATE score, the merit list is prepared by the board were offered seats based on the availability of seats at the institute. Upon acceptance of the seats through the COAP portal, the candidates can ‘Accept and freeze’ their seats by paying the admission fee to the institute. The counseling is done in various rounds.
  • Candidates can also take admission based on AMIE/ GRAD IETE, they have to complete 24 valid UG credits prescribed by the concerned DRC/CRC/SRC/PEC along with a GATE valid score.

IIT Delhi M.Tech Admission 2025: How to Apply?

Candidates seeking admission to M.Tech from IIT Delhi must apply for the GATE exam. Below are the details for applying for the GATE exam 2025.

  1. Students should visit the official website of GATE 2025.
  2. Now complete the registration form by filling it out.
  3. In the next step, students need to pay the registration fees of INR 900 (female candidates) and INR 1800 (all other candidates) for a regular period.
