I think that they lag in their way of teaching.
Hostel condition especially for the first year hostel which is provided that is shivalik hostel is worst

Life at pec chandigarh

Likes

Good experience at college, campus life is great
Nice food at mess , and free to move every where
Good for girls also , security at girls hostel

Dislikes

We study. Old subjects in our first year
Some subject we not need like engineering drawing for our course
Structure of campus, means is old time construction

My experience at punjab engineering college as a first year

Likes

Clean and green campus with studious environment
good and helpful teachers that teach well
good placement statistics as per my knowledge

Dislikes

sub- optimal wifi coverage in the campus
unclean washrooms and mess area in the hostel
bad timings for students during winters

Placement Experience:

students are interviewed for internships by companies in the fifith semester, and the eligible students have the 6th semester as an internship, and the credits are earned for internship , companies like goldman sachs and jp morgan visit the college for internships and placements , the highest package for cse branch last year was around 83 lakhs per annum and average was around 16-17 lakhs, around 80 percent students were placed in CSE branch last year I am thinking about getting a job after my degree

I like the placements provided by the college.
Campus area is neat and clean and surroundings are well maintained.
Labs are well maintained and being renovated.

Dislikes

Some of the cources in first year are extra added as they are very old and are not needed in our discipline.
Unavailability of proper technical facilities for visualization.
Some of the professors don't teach properly and just read out the ppt.

Placement Experience:

Students in Punjab Engineering College become eligible for internships in their fifth semester and internships offers goes on until sixth semester. Our seniors here are placed in good companies like Wipro, Apple, Microsoft, Infosys, PhonePe, etc.

All about PEC

Likes

The labs of the college are well facilated with the proped and guiding facilty.
Campus life is good.There are many clubs and societies in which you can have active participation.
There are also facilities for tge sports,dance and music.

Dislikes

Boys to the girls ratio is not very good.
Infrastructure needs to be looked after and improved.
Hostel timings for girls at night are till 10.

Placement Experience:

Students get placements very well.There are many companies which visit every year for the students.Most of the students also get internships.Average package varies from branch to branch.for cse it has average package near about 15 lakhs annualy

my college journey

well i liked the college fest a lot. it was quite better than nearby engineering colleges
the sports culture is very good. facilities for all sports are available. even there is a gym here and a swimming pool
the fact that the college has been established in the year 1921. so the college is very famous and has good name in the society

Dislikes

the infrastructure of the college is very poor as it is very old
the library service is only from 9am to 8 pm . people who want to study at night cannot avail the service of the library
the auditorium is quite small and accommodates very less people and even the chairs speaker quality and mics are not in good condition

Placement Experience:

laast year was recession period so honestly the placements were not really good but overall till now the placements especially for the cse people has been quite good. like 70 percent of the people are mostly placed on campus.

Clubs and societies of PEC that are very active
The quality of the batchmates is really good.

Dislikes

Less jobs for students interested in core subjects
Somewhat of a divide in day scholars and hostellers
The wifi can be bit slow in some areas of the campus

Placement Experience:

Students get pre-placement training in the 4th sem, and the 5th sem is all about finding an intern. 6th sem is dedicated to doing the internship and 7-8th interns are dedicated to finding campus placements. The companies like JP Morgan and Co, mechanzie, Atlaccian, Microsoft, Maruti, and Uber visit PEC to pick PEC's brightest men and women of tomorrow. Various profiles like Software, Consultancy, data analysis, and core are open to students of various branches Almost all the students from circuital and 80% of Non-circuital get placed. Dara science is the relatively newer branch and the exact package/stipend discussion is still underway and will only be found out after 2025. My plan is to go on study for MTech after my degree is complete
