Pec...The best college in chd

Likes

I like the faculty of this college a lot as it includes a combination of young and experienced professors
The greenery and cleanliness is another attractive attribute.
Pecfest is the biggest event of the year and almost everybody waits for it the whole year

Dislikes

The girls to boys ratio is very bad like in my branch it is 11:1
The profs are highly eduacted and experience..but their teaching stylw is really boring

Internships Opportunities:

As I see...a lot of seniors in 3rd and 4th year have got their internships in big mncs and start-ups as well in tech jobs, finance, consultancy and core profiles as well...so this college invites a lot of companies for on campus internship and recruitment process

My review of PEC Chandigarh

Likes

The college is in a peaceful and really clean city, chandigarh.
The college has zero ragging and friendly seniors mostly.
Social interactions between students are good mostly.

Dislikes

From our batch 25-26 the college withdrew major funds and permissions from its well known PECFEST, which used to be a thing to boast, all in name of academics, in turn it didn't really improve anything but make the college life even more boring.
The 75% attendance criteria thats changed just this year.
The buildings and classrooms are very old, nothing exactly can be called state of the art or even good kinda. Hostels are never maintained.

Internships Opportunities:

The college students get offered a number of good internship opportunities, or so they say. I myself have not yet got an internship, it's my first semester. But from what I know its mostly good. Many good companies visit the campus for interns and placements.

Pec is still worth it

Likes

Green environment is peaceful and there is decent cleanliness
The strictness is not so much like we can go out and in leniently
The crowd here is really educated, multitalented people and not only nerds

Dislikes

Attendance is really strict, below 75 your grade is lowered
The course feels outdated, it won’t help in placement, its like 30 year old syllabus with little improvements
The ratio of male to female is like 10:1, like any other engineering college, but they are all ambitious people

Internships start in 3rd year, and also in 4th year, by the end around 50 percent manage to get interns. You need projects in your resume or else no intern and placements and interviewers are intelligent enough to make out if u made it yourself or ai did it.

Good college with great opportunities

Likes

Placements are alumni network is really good and strong
Research is really strong with ties with IITs, NITs, IISERs
Culture and life is really nice, with no ragging

Dislikes

Infrastructure is really bas especially with the fees we are paying
Some teachers are just really bad in teaching
Fees is too much especially for such a good govt college

Internships Opportunities:

Dozens of companies come for internship opportunities in college like Google, Microsoft. I'm not really aware about the work but senior do say they're hectic work. They work in big projects as well and some crack PPOs based on internship.

detailed honest review about PEC Chandigarh

Likes

i really liked the course curriculum which will be starting from the second year .
faculty is really helpful and each one them holds an expertise in their own core fields .
i really love how the placements are going on currently especially in CSE branch . they are even better than many NIT'S

Dislikes

infrastructure and labs of this college is poor because of old college . it is 100 year old college .
subjects in first year disappoint me as being this much reputed college , teaching ED , environmental science etc makes no sense .
they can really improve the campus by establishing modern technology in labs and improving the infrastructure .

Internships Opportunities:

There are many internship facilities available in the campus . in CSE department , average stipend is around 50 - 60 K per month . main companies offering internship is Maruti Suzuki , PhonePe , Flipkart , Amazon etc

Good placements, campus life, location, chill academics good crowd

Dislikes

Infra is quite below average and placements in my branch in quite low as compared toh cse and ece

Internships Opportunities:

For tech braches there are many companies that came for internship like jp Morgan American express paypal etc with maximum stipend upto 1.5 lack per month and average stipend is about 25k per month. As I am in first I don't have exact data about these

PUNJAB ENGINEERING COLLEGE [The Reality]

Likes

I liked the placement stats and the companies visiting this college , and also the clean environment in the campus
The faculties , they are supportive and help in all kind of doubt
Good amounts of club and societies which helps in overall development

Dislikes

Gender ration here is bad there is 1 is to 10 ratio , less amount of female students
Huge difference in ranks of other state and home state quota student
Small size of campus available to students and out of 150 acres 100 acres is for college faculties and professor's houses and rest is for college students

Internships Opportunities:

Companies such as JP Morgan Goldman Sachs , Flipkart , Microsoft Google came for internship and many more were there , the stipend ranges from 30k to 100k or some times above 100k but average if about 50k -60k I know this much only and i am figuring out the all the other things

Likes

Girls from chandigarh and punchkula and extremely sexy.
The campus is big, green, and beautiful
The friends which I made in hostel and their supporting nature

Dislikes

There is a CR in my class who is akdu I dislike him

Internships Opportunities:

Chandigarh has changed its internship program now student in the last semesters are only eligible for internship before it was for 5th semester also from they have changed this policy recently. Student or generally getting placed in paid internship here there is a club called as aic which brings company for 1st year internship program and 1st year student are also getting placed in pec Chandigarh

Mess food is very great comparitively than others
Newer made labs are quite good and nice profs for them
Seniors are of very good nature and no ego issues

Dislikes

Infrastructure is very old. Repairs are going but overall 2/5
75% attendance policy makes it difficult for other skills
Some old labs, instruments dont work well. More like museums

PEC Chandigarh: 1 Answered Question

Why is PEC losing its good ranking? Is it true that NIT Jalandhar will cross it within a few years??

PEC's previous director wasn’t a very good educationist. The infrastructure, curriculum and the extracurriculars suffered under his leadership.

But things have changed in PEC now. The new director has the opposite ideals. There has been a gradual increase in the quality of education at PEC. Some changes are:

Infrastructure is being improved
The curriculum has been made more challenging
PEC Fest stole the show for the year

So the long standing reputation combined with the strong alumni network will not disappoint you. PEC is not losing its good ranking and NIT Jalandhar is nowhere near it.
