Thank you for the ask to answer. I am a student of DTU and pursuing Automotive Engineering. In July, I will be sitting for placements, so I can provide you with a perspective on this choice. Firstly, it's important to note that Automotive Engineering is closely related to Mechanical Engineering, with about 80 percent of the syllabus being similar. Additionally, we study 5 to 6 subjects related to Production and Industrial Engineering. During placements, around 70 percent of the companies that recruit for Mechanical Engineering also consider Automotive Engineering students. This can be seen as a drawback since our branch is often perceived as similar to Mechanical Engineering due to the name change. DTU offers ample research opportunities and co-curricular activities. I would suggest you consider your confidence in scoring better in your chosen field. If you believe you can excel, then go for it; otherwise, it might be worth exploring other options.

I will advise you not to compare colleges solely on the basis of rankings and placements because these are too trivial criteria to be considered while choosing your college. One must look at the bigger picture. NIT Delhi, despite being a new institute, has already laid its strong foundation and you can expect excellent placements in the near future.

What are the things that I need to pack for a hostel at PEC Chandigarh?
PEC Chandigarh hostel rooms come equipped with mattresses, tables, chairs, cabinets, and built-in shelves in addition to other necessities. So the things you need to carry with you are listed below:
- Essential Documents (Admission letter, ID cards, and any required certificates, passport-sized photographs, Academic records, and certificates).
- Bedding and Linens (Bed sheets, blankets, towels and washcloths).

- Brand name- Both the colleges are at par with one another, but NIT Hamirpur carries the much-valued ‘NIT’ tag. It has a good infrastructure and a beautiful campus. The surroundings are serene and close to nature. If you have an interest in traveling, photography, and trekking, Hamirpur is more suitable to explore these interests. PEC definitely offers more exposure, being based out of Chandigarh.

Campus life is also mid. Clubs are active in PEC like SAASC, Drams, Robotics,Music Club. Library is open till 10 pm and till 12pm during exam time. There is 1 cricket ground, 1 football ground, 1 athletic ground, 1 badminton court, 1 basketball court.
How are the hostels at PEC Chandigarh?
In boys hostel there are 2 beds, 1 table and a fan in 1 rOoom. Talking about the mess, food quality is very very very poor. Only breakfast quality is good otherwise nothing is worth 4350 rupees that they charge per month.
