It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

A Bitter Sweet College life Summary- Chapter 3

Likes

The campus size, the freedom. Fests happen all around the year.
The winters are good and scenery is good
It provides a competitive enviromnment and the friends help you in your growth.

Dislikes

The placement season might be disheartening and toxic
Semester goes too fast with fests around, so it becomes hectic
Hygiene in hostels could be improved. The mess has stray animals luring around which makes it unhygienic

Placement Experience:

During 7th semester students students are eligible for campus placements. For chemical we have Saint Gobain, TATA Steel, Exxon Mobil, ITCX etc visiting the campus. For Tech we have Microsft visiting us. The highest package could go up to 90lpa and the average stands at 10lpa. The percentage varies every year but overall 70-80 per cent of students get placed easily. I am also thinking of getting into a PSU after getting a degree.

NITR from Delhite's Perspective

Likes

Green Campus, Sports Facilities, Canteens and the friends I have made here
The fests are pretty decent and give some flavor to our studious life

Dislikes

Nothing as such is disliked by me in the college

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for Internship opportunities from the 5th semester (starting of the 3rd year). The students are eligible for On-Campus placement opportunities from the 7th semester (beginning of the 4th year). The percentage of students getting placed varies from branch to branch, but it is above 90% of the total batch for most branches. And the other 10% mostly opt for higher studies and competitive exams. All big companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle, Tata Steel, Bajaj, TVS, Texas and others visit our campus annually. I plan to go for placements after getting the degree.

The campus is huge, with lot of lush greenery.
There is lot of oppurtunities in the field of research and development.

Placement Experience:

Students after 6th semester become eligible for campus placements. Many companies visited our college like Amazon, Microsoft, Barclays, Oracle, Qualcomm, Tata, etc. The highest package offered was 52 lacs and the average package offered is of 9.18 lacs. The percentage of students getting placed is above 95 percent. I also have a plan of getting a job after getting this degree.

Insights to NITRKL

Likes

The campus life is very good and is always lively. The night life here is also very good.
The academics here at nitrkl is excellent. There's this 85% attendance criteria here at NITR and they take into account very strictly this thing.
The clubs are really nice. The student community works well.

Dislikes

Sometimes the academics could be really hectic and pressurizing.
The campus is really big , you need to have a bike or cycle at min.
Hostel management to some extent can be improved.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for campus placements in the final year of their course. There are companies like Barclays, Microsoft, Bajaj, Tata Steel and many more. A decent number of candidates are hired by these companies. The highest packages go up to 52lpa provided by Microsoft for the SDE role. 100% of placements are recorded by NITR. I have already been selected as an intern at Bajaj Auto and looking forward to joining it.

NIT ROURKELA (MECHANICAL ENGINEERING) EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE COMING.

Likes

Campus environment and the greenery. Availability of every necessity.
Class room was well equipped. The studing experience was good.
The senior are cooperative and there is no ragging in campus.

Dislikes

Hott temperature during summer and the pollution is quite above good.
The professor could be more interactive.
The spending in club activities could be increased .

Placement Experience:

From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placement. The company includes Tata, John Deer, various drone startups, Royal Enfield, and many well-known companies. The highest package is around 20 lpa and the average was around 10 lpa. The placement percentage is around 98%. My plan is to appear for GATE entrance after my degree and get placed in a PSU.

I like the college friends, my friend and the overall competition.

Placement Experience:

For campus placement students are eligible from the 4th year(7th semester) and for internships, they are available from the 3rd year(5th semester). Many reputed companies visit the campus such as Microsoft, Mercedes, TATA, TVS, Vendata, etc for branch-specific students.

Lush green and humongous campus . Classrooms equipped with good acs
Clubs - cyborg the robotics and automation club
Fests - innovision , Cosmo, nitrutsav , roots

Dislikes

The 85% attendance policy is quite cruel on students
The attendance grade back policy is something I am afraid of
The students are forced to return to their hostels by 12 am and all canteens close by 1 am/ very less or no night life

Students become eligible for internships in their 5th semester and for job placements in their 7th semester Famous companies that visit nitr - oracle , Texas instruments, Microsoft , Qualcomm , tata steel , bajaj auto , itc ... My plans after getting a degree are not quite clear with respect to what I'll be doing in future :/

NIT Rourkela- The Pros and Cons

Likes

Campus is very huge and student can explore as much as they want.
Classrooms filled Projectors and Air Conditioners. Some rooms also have digital whiteboards for better and futuristic interactions.
Professors are very good (at least in Mechanical Branch).

Dislikes

Hostel maintanance can definitely be improved which is happening slowly.

Placement Experience:

The internship opportunities are available from the start of 3rd year when the companies visit the campus for internships. They come for placements in the 4th year starting. some companies take offline interviews and some take online.

Attendance: Strict attendance policy to get minimum of 85% attendance .
Remote Location: The campus is situated in a relatively remote location, which may pose challenges in terms of access to urban amenities
Limited Social Scene: Being in a somewhat secluded area, the social scene outside academic activities might be limited .

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for Internships provided by campus in 3rd year and for Full Time Placements in 4th year. Total 330 companies visited in the year with 1534 offers. With an average salary of 12.95 LPA. And highest salary of 60 LPA On average more than 98 percentage of students get placed. My plan is to gain some experience in the industry level for some years befor moving on to somewhere else

Journey through NIT Rourkela: A comprehensive review for aspiring students

Here we have so many clubs that you can explore almost any and everything in your collage life. Also, we have tech fest and culteral fest which futher encourages students to participate in these.
The Seniors here are really helpful for preparing for collage internships or palcements. Aslo the collage will assign you a Mentor who will be a guide for you from the very 1st year.
Green and lust campus is really beautiful and you will feel the true and pure nature.The infarasture is also quite fabulous.

Dislikes

Here in NIT rourkela you have 85% attendence policy. So, if fail to maintain that you will be getting a gradeback In worst case you will be debarred
Few faculties have no interest in making the students learn. they are just boring.
And the collage is far away from the main town which increses the travel cost

Placement Experience:

After complition of 6th semester, companies start visting our collage. Most of the top companies visit our collage like microsoft, amazon, barcleys etc. more 90% of students are placed from every branch. Here, the highest package is 83.60 Lacks CTC and median BTech Package is 13 lakh. After Btech most of the students opt for placements and few opt for higher studies(research) and some prepare for competitive exams like GATE, UPSE and CAT.

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
