Journey through NIT Rourkela: A comprehensive review for aspiring students

I choose these course because of my rank and For 1st year our total batch was divided into 8 sections(Each section includes students form all branches). Each section containg more than 100 students. But after 1st year each branch was again divided into 2 sections. Our section has 70 students. And the student to faculty ratio is also decent her. And Our Each semester consists of 4 months in the 2nd month you will have mid sem and in 4th sem you have End sem. Here every Faculty has done minimum of PHD from top collage. And Some of them have research patents.

Here few companies that came are MIcrosoft, Barclays, Accenture- SDE role, And Many data analytics based companies. In our branch we have four compies which visted this semester. Tata steel, Maruthi, Bajaj and TVS. They offer decent Package around 40-50K for core and around 1 lakh for SDE role companies.

After complition of 6th semester, companies start visting our collage. Most of the top companies visit our collage like microsoft, amazon, barcleys etc. more 90% of students are placed from every branch. Here, the highest package is 83.60 Lacks CTC and median BTech Package is 13 lakh. After Btech most of the students opt for placements and few opt for higher studies(research) and some prepare for competitive exams like GATE, UPSE and CAT.

here in NIT Rourkela you have a total fees of 198K for general. And 120K for OBC and 60-70K for SC/ST. And Recently there is a price hike in mess fee which increased mess fee by 4K per semester. And I also availed scholarship from FFE (Foundation For Excellence) and get around 40K as scholarship grant. And For SC and ST there is NSP scholarship availabe. Even if you don't get an scholarship you will get loan from the bank for you degree.

Campus life at NIT rourkela is awsome. Due to lust and green campus you will enjoy every bit life. And here there are four fest Each covering all different aspects of student life. Like we have Innovision largest Tech fest of Eastern India where more than 10000 students participate. Aloswe have vriddhi the sports event and Cosmopolitian a Culteral fest. We also have Biju Patanaik central library which contain all kind of books.Here you sports clubs for every sport from handball and table tennis to cricket and football. More than 60 clubs ar run by the student body. And the compus area is covered with playgrounds and sports.

Hostel in NIT Rourkela is compulsory for everyone and here there are 7 boys hostel and 2 girls hostel. And in every hostel you have all basic facilities like Bed, table, chair, light etc. Also you will have 24/7 internet facility and water facility. You will get commont bathrooms and washing machine for cleaning cloths. Here the hostel is quite affordable which charge 55000 for 1 year. The registation process is also quite smooth, when I came to my hostel my room was alloted based on random chit method. But only flaw here is few hostels are far from acadmic area which consumes bit of time. To talk about Mess menu you won't regret the quality and quantiy that is delivered here. You will get non-veg 5 days in a week. some days twice or thrice in a day. And you get 4 meals a day. Containing breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner.

To be eligible for NIT Rourkela you have to get a decent score in jee main. I got somewhere aroud 10000 obc rank and with my home state quota i got Mechanical in this collage. You will get your admission through jossa councelling. Once you get a collage in jossa you have to report to the collage for futher application process. After that the process will be handled by the collage staff. Yes, I availed reservation benifits of OBC it reduced the cutoff.
