Course Curriculum Overview

Since childhood I was curious to learn the mechanical aspects of things and gradually this curiosity developed into passion thus it led me to pursue Mechanical Engineering. In a class there are 70 students and in each semester there are 5 theory subjects taught by 5 professors sir the faculty to student ratio is 14:1 All the faculty members are highly qualified, most of them have completed their P.hD abroad in universities like California University of Technology etc. There are 2 exams mid semester and End semester and each semester is of 4 mounths. Exams are very easy if you are consistent from Day 1.

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 200000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Internships opportunities are provided to students in their third or pre final year. Job roles are trainee and intern. Stipend ranges from 10 thousand per month to as High as 1.25 lakh per month. But not everyone gets on campus internship some have to try for off campus also.

Placement Experience

Students are eligible for Internships provided by campus in 3rd year and for Full Time Placements in 4th year. Total 330 companies visited in the year with 1534 offers. With an average salary of 12.95 LPA. And highest salary of 60 LPA On average more than 98 percentage of students get placed. My plan is to gain some experience in the industry level for some years befor moving on to somewhere else

Fees and Financial Aid

Semester fee for students with parental income greater than 5 lakh per annum is around 100000 per semester including everything starting from Mess, Hostel, Tution etc. The fee is reduced for parental income group 1 to 5 lakh per annum. And fee is further reduced for parental income group below 1 lakh per annum. Various Scholarships are provided by the government which can be looked upon.

Campus Life

Tech Fest : Innovision in the month of November Sports Fest : Vridhi in the month of November Nitrustsav in the month of January Cultural Fest : Cosmopolitan in the month of February More than 20000 books are available in central library named as Biju Patnaik Central Library Every classroom is equipped with a projector and speaker system along with wireless mic for professors and Air Conditioning is also present There are various stadiums, grounds and courts for different sports like Badminton, Volleyball, Basketball Cricket, Football etc A Olympic standard swimming pool is also present There are 4 societies and around 100 clubs which are run by students only,. I am a part of the official formula Student team of NIT Rourkela known as Team Road Runner

Hostel Facilities

A single Bed, 1 cupboard, 1 table with drawer and 1 chair, 1 Tube Light, 1 Ceiling Fan, 2 power points, 1 LAN Cable, 1 window 1 door Facilities available in hostel for common usage are as follows Bathroom, Basin, Indian and western style toilets, Geyser, washing machine, aquaguard, water cooler Hostel are automatically registered during the admission process no separate registration is required Meal quality is also good for ?130 per day

Hostel Fee: INR 20000 per year

Admission

Eligibility: Must have qualified JEE Main Examination Cut Off: Changes Every Year but above 97 percentile is minimum Application form can be found out for JEE main in NTA website OBC Reservation slightly decreases your cut off rank hence increasing your chances

Placement Experience:

Placements are quite good. Thats precisely why i chose this college . The highest offer last year was 52 lpa . Other than that average package is 6 to 8 lpa for cse students . Mostly all students get placed . A few companies that come for placements are Infosys, TCS , JP Morgan , Deloitte , Bookings holidays , Cognizant, Accenture .

Placement Experience:

After 3rd semester the students are eligible for internship but after 4th sem the students are eligible for Plecement. More the 95% students get the placements. Highest package is aprox Rs.4300000 and lowest is 300000. My plan is for higher studies after getting degree.

ITER SOA is quite intimidating!!

Placement Experience:

IBM, Siemens, Philips and many other companies and even the chio makers and computer makers are also one of the main share holders in placements. For CSE department the average placements are of 15-20 lakhs but for our department the average drops down to 6 lakhs per annum.

Honest and Genuine review of NIT Rourkela

So I choose these college over the others because of its relevant name and the hype of this college In India as It is Institute of national importance And also a government backed college and it is one of the most demanded college. So the colleges which I have applied to are DTU, NSUT, Nit Trichy, Nit Warangal, Nit Surat Kal And top 7 iits. No I was not rejected from the other college which I have applied to but the combination of branching and the college value Doesn't satisfied me for taking admission in that colleges. So the admission process for the Nit Rourkela Is that the eligibility criteria is 75% in 12th class And second criteria is to clear the entrance exam which is the JEE mains and also scoring a very good marks in it. Then by the centralised Josaa Counselling student will fill their choices ,lock and get allotments in the upcoming rounds of the josaa counselling. The ending rank to take admission in this college in the EC branch is about a 6000-7000 rank in the jee mains exam for the other state people. Everything about NIT ROURKELA ( campus life, placements, fees )

The best aspects of the college is the campus. It's the second largest campus in India. A lush green campus with a very good mess facilities. The buildings are great. Hostels are also good. Evrything about infrastructure was a plus point. Only negative point is the non availability of airport due to which some companies refuse to come a pick students.
