It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

NIT Rourkela: Internship Opportunities

Likes

The campus life is very rich and lively here. There are a lot of things to try and explore.
The course curriculum is well articulated and the professors are approachable.
Extracurricular activities are encouraged.

Dislikes

The academic area is a bit too far from the hostel area.
Mess food can be improved and the menu should be changed periodically.
Infrastructure of some of the hostels can be improved.

Placement Experience:

Students from the 7th semester become eligible for placements. The college has been doing well in terms of placements. The overall average package for this year's BTech students was 13.89 LPA while the highest package offered was 83.60 LPA. More than 1300 companies visited the campus and the top recruiters include Microsoft, Deloitte, JSW Steel, etc. I am planning to go for further studies after getting the degree but not ruling out the possibility of backing an offer with decent package.

NIT Rourkela : Is it really worth it?

Likes

The size of the campus is huge and it's fun to just go on a walk or cycle around
The infrastructure is nice. But we do not have a dedicated department building for Civil branch
We have multiple restaurants and canteens inside the campus.

Dislikes

The in-time for girls is 12AM. Really unfair.
Also, the grading is weird and absolute, instead of being relative. They are so strict in their grading and failing students, it's terrible.

Placement Experience:

Final year students are eligible for campus placements. Most students aim for Software companies, but you'll have a very scarce chance of getting into the big ones if you belong to a non-circuital branch. However, some big companies like Microsoft (50 LPA CTC) let you sir for the OT and sometimes hire you in the name of inclusivity. Other companies like American Express, VISA, Wells Fargo also visit on campus and offer around 30 LPA CTC. Now, these companies have an eligibility criteria of only circuital branches. There are other Software and mostly Analytics companies that offer on average 20 LPA, and allow mosy branches to sit for the OT.

Campus faculty and they very best in teaching
Food in mess is also good and cantines are also very near to us there is reasonable prices.
Sports and clubs are also improve the skills

Dislikes

Distance is more from hostel to academic area
Snakes are also there inside the campus and some times they came on road
Climatic conditions winter is so cool and summer is too hot

Placement Experience:

From 7 semester they are eligible for campus placements and companies offered for collage are Tata ,Amazon, Flipkart, and so many 20+ companies are visitthe highest package in college is about 52 lakhs nearly 100 percent of placement is there

Like college campus with greenary all over
Facilities and infrastructure of the college
Supporting student for sports and extra cocaricular activities chance of exploring other colleges

The only uncomfortable this is student should maintain 85% of attendance

Placement Experience:

Over the years our college good rate of placements for the students from seventh semester students will become eligible for the campus placement. Companies kk Ike Google Qualcomm, Verizon John Deere and Disney Plus hotstar will give job offer for the students some of the government campiness also visit our campus like ONGC BPCL etc we had and an highest package of 50 lakh and average of 13 lakh. We have 98 percentage of students getting placements .My plan after getting degree is to prepare for civil services exam and crack the exam

Campus Life and Infrastructure very good.

Campus is green, clean and beautifully planned
There are numerous clubs which helps us find our passion
Hostels are also clean and hygienic with all facilities

Dislikes

Academic pressure is there a 6 month semester ended in 3 months
Campus is at outskirt of city so have to travel by bus to visit the city

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is offered at NIT Rourkela for all eligible students. The institute has a dedicated Training and Placement Cell that organizes and coordinates the placement activities. The institute has a record of excellent placements, with more than 95% of the students getting placed in reputed companies and organizations. The highest package offered in 2022-23 was Rs 52.98 lakh per annum, and the average package was Rs 12.95 lakh per annum12. Some of the top recruiters were Apple, Google, VISA, Microsoft, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Tata Steel, Reliance, etc.

Good Life at NIT ROURKELA

Campus Life is awesome as nit rourkela have spacious hostels and large area.
We also several restaurants inside the campus that have great food.
We also get 10-15% discount in almost every restaurants in rourkela.

Placement Experience:

Placement Drive is excellent at nit rourkela with an average CTC of 12.9 lakhs. Highest package offer at year is about 49 lakhs that is of microsoft. The placement drive starts from 7th semester that is the starting of 4th year companies starts coming to the campus. Almost 90-91 percent students are getting placed and remaining are going for higher studies like MBA, MTech.

Likes

Tech clubs work are good here you can learn new skill set and keep yourself busy
Placement is also good, you will not remain unemployed till you are too bad
Environment and campus life is also encouraging.

Dislikes

85%attendance policy, and some SAC leave grant
There us no night life, no one is allowed to roam at night or even walk out of hostel.
Only girls hostel has timing and they have to do entry and exit after 12pm

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester you would start getting opportunity for internship and from 6th semester you would start getting placement opportunities. Placement is excellent here. But yeah you have to work on that. Nothing is free, you have to be capable. There are also some training given for internship and placements.

i liked the club culture and i made a lot of friends here who are very friendly to me.
i liked the campus environment very much
i liked the mess facilities and also the hostel

Dislikes

the study life balance is not so good as expected
assignments are given a lot in a very small time
faculties are not that good in teaching but are highly qualified

Placement Experience:

students are eligible for campus placements from 6th semester onwards and very good percentage of students get placed from our college. a lot of companies havebeen visited our campus and a very few made no offers. around 90 percent students get placed every year.

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
