It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

This college is the best one with not much restrictions to students with a very good campus life with lots of enjoyment.

Likes

The lush green campus is the best thing our campus.
The fests are really enjoyable here with lots of enthusiasm.
The big campus helps us to roam whenever free.

Dislikes

The syllabus is quite huge to cover here.
The exams don't have any gaps in between.
The non availability of AC in hostel rooms.

Placement Experience:

Placements are 100% in our institute. Students become eligible for placements since 2nd year. Many companies like Microsoft,amazon, Flipkart,tcs,micron and 1000+ offers are made. This year 82 lakhs was the highest offer made. Average is 15-20 lakhs. My plans are to go to software line after learning coding thoroughly.

i like main building garden and i like fests in this collage.
i am very happy to join this collage and i have so many friends.
in my collage so many placements are there. and so many course also there

Dislikes

before mid sem they will conduct a fest.
and we have enjoy very much but we think that exams will come.
and here enjoy is lot and also study is also lot.

i like this course. and my faculty also teach very good. if have anu problem they will explain many times. my faculty aws will qualified. they completed there phd. exams are vey tough. they have to pass very difficult.

Nit Rourkela's reality check

Likes

Greenery and garden of our hostel which consists of many types of flowers.
Good friends, not only our department but also others.
Good faculty who are very compatible to clear your doubts

Dislikes

The food here is very bad. It has no salt and spice in it.
Some people here have regional feelings so which they give less chance for other regional people in participating in events
Some hostels have no gym , washing machine facilities and also no proper courts to play outdoor games

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I was interested in Chemistry. All faculties are very co-operative and make sure that the concept is understandable to students. Curriculum load is not very bad but we can manage. Each semester is of 4 months. One mid sem exam for 2 months and one end sem exam in last month is conducted for every semester. Class consists of around 54 members.

Pros and Cons of NIT Rourkela

Likes

The large campus and the 1200 acres of the campus .
The fests that are held in the campus every year.
The freedom of sharing ideas to professors.

Dislikes

The climatic conditions are somewhat harsh.
The placement facility can be make better.
The transport facilities are somewhat difficult in this location.

Placement Experience:

The placements which are provided in my college were decent. Their are alot of well known companies came to placements. In the sixth semester itself the students are eligible to sit the placements. The 90% of the students are going to placed in before graduating.

Beautiful lush green campus and scenic beauty
Zero ragging campus with healthy junior senior relationship
Modern classrooms with well furnitures and Cooler

Dislikes

Teachers don't teach nicely and teaching methodology is outdated
Hostel rooms are small it would have been much spacious

Fourth year students get placed and thirs year students get the chance for internship. Many reputed companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle, Texas Instrument. The highest package is near 56 LPA and average is 12.95 LPA. Nearly 95% students get placed.

NITR- excellent college, but?

Likes

campus life is very good considering campus is 600 acre +
placemennts statistics are excellent and average package is 12lpa.
overall infrastructure of classrooms and hostels is good and comfortable.

Dislikes

there are some maintenance issues in some hostels.
hostel food quality is never consistent, it is good someday and bad the other
85% attendance policy is compulsory for all.

Placement Experience:

students apply for placements starting from 6th sem. Google,Microsoft and other tech giants often visit for campus placement. highest package of this year was 83lpa and avg was 12lpa. 98% students get placedin campus placements.

Likes

Good and clean campus with great labs and tecnical facilities
Good hostels with good food and clean toilets
Peer group and coding culture and cultural fest

Dislikes

Too busy schedule with lot of classes and labs
Dispensary being very far from hostelss.
Gender ratio is very poor as average engineering colleges

Placement Experience:

In 3rd semester internship opportunities open up and in 4th year with projects and resume students are elligible for placements. Many companies visit and placement percentage is very good with a decent avergae package and offcampus placement opportunities are very good

A Brief Introduction of NIT Rourkela

Likes

Campus life is very vibrant and pretty good in NIT Rourkela
Infrastructure is in the developing phase but still students will enjoy the enviroment in NIT Rourkela
The placement of NIT Rourkela is also pretty good.Most of the students get placed and the average package is 12.5Lpa

Dislikes

The course in not properly designed and some of the courses are irrelevant

1)In 5th Semseter campus student are eligible for intership and campus placements 2)The number of offers made where close to 1500 3)HIghest package recieved is 83Lpa and average package 12.5Lpa 4)There are close to 98% of students getting placed

All About NIT Rourkela

Likes

Great campus, amazing club culture and Grand Fests.
Supportive faculty, Good and experienced professors
Good accommodation,best hostel facility and best menu.

Dislikes

Some powercut during exam time and distance of hostel to departments.
The cost of eatables near or around nit is quite high.
There no interaction between juniors and seniors, hence a gap is created.

The placement ratio of nitrkl is improving year by year , students are eligible to sit in placement from the starting of 4th year, The highest package this year 2023 is around 80 lacs per annum. The avg package of mining branch is 9 lacs per annum for the year 2023, the percentage of students gets placed is around 80.

NIT Rourkela: Pro, Cons, Campus Review, Ceramic Branch

Likes

Regular Fests and Celebrations are great about the campus life.
High number of Companies visit the college and more than 1500+ Offers were made last year. Placements are good.
The infrastructure is standard. Overall Good.

Dislikes

The faculty are lazy and not interested to teach. The teaching methodology is boring.
The rules are bit strict for first year. Most won't listen to your request. The faculty have a bad attitude problem.
Same age old course being followed. I think more opportunities should be given to students in other branches to pursue career in tech.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for internships from 2nd year onwards. Campus placements occur in 4th year. Companies visiting include Top Tech companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Samsung, Qualcom, etc. Highest package was 86 LPA from CSE branch and Average package overall 12-13 LPA. More than 90% students get placed.

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
