Course Curriculum Overview

4

I actually have a very keen interest in political science since my school years, that's why opted for this course. I don't think there are any improvements needed in teaching methods. The timing of exams according to the difficulty is appropriate in my opinion.

Fees and Financial Aid

Year wise fee is approximately 24000. I am not eligible for any quotas, I belong to the general category. Apart from this tution fee, semester wise examination form fees us submitted which varies between 1000-1500 rupees. I am not actually aware of the fees paid by my classmates with quotas. There are certain scholarship programs in college for the needy students and are actually very helpfull for them.

Campus Life

3

There are many societies in the college and all of them work very hard in their fields. Some of the societies are dead but most of them are active. I myself is a part of two of my college societies. I think they help you very much in your overall development and growth as a person as it improves your socializing skills and so on.

Admission

I didn't choose this college, I was allotted this college according to my preference list in the councelling process. Although I wanted a co-ed college but I was alloted this in the councelling process so I couldn't do much about it. There was a problem in my preference list that why I got alloted this college, otherwise I would have been alloted some co-ed college of DU according to the marks I got.

Faculty

5

Faculty to student relationship is quite friendly. The teachers are very approachable and helpful. They help students in every way possible. I love some of my teachers including jaspratap sir, avneet mam, garima mam, Roseline mam. I don't remember the name of the faculty I didn't like but the extra curricular cular subjects like AEC, SEC ,VAC teachers do not take much interest in teaching and often cancel lectures. There are mostly 7 papers per semester and they are of moderate difficulty. They're not too difficult not too easy either.

Night Life

2

There is no nighlife in the campus ofcourse as it's a day college and a women's college. Also there is no hostel so no nightlife ofcourse. Our college is very small areawise so there aren't many areas to Hangout though but still some of the places includes- cafeteria, auditorium building, juice shop, common room etc. In the day time that location is very safe but I have no experience of the night .

Other Applied Colleges

Amity University | Master of Public Policy [MPP]

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our college offers a good mix of theory and real-life application, making it a good choice for anyone genuinely curious about how the human mind works. It also balances academics with hands-on experiences—students don’t just read about psychology in theory, they actually get to practice it through labs, experiments, internships, and field visits. Regular workshops, seminars, and presentations keep the learning process interactive and help build communication and analytical skills that are useful both inside and outside the classroom. Recently a resilience workshop was held by an alumni of MSCW, where we got deeper insights about how resilience can be built, how coping works and how some coping techniques can be bad for u.

Placement Experience:

My course does not allow direct placements right after graduation since a lot of students tend to pursue higher education, but the college does have a placement cell that brings in different opportunities like internships and placements. The average package is probably about 2.5 LPA with companies like Bajaj allianz but since it is an off campus college, this isn't bad either

Placement Experience:

Dyal Singh Placements aren't that hefty that I can boast a lot about them. Since I have already mentioned in previous section that I want the deepest knowledge of political science and the only way, one can gain that is by doing masters. Coming to DSC placements over 30% students of Political Science from our college are placed via campus.

Media people as Hindi Hons students obviously have chane there or researches. Some even pursue freelance things as college provides the perfect platform to gain confidence and showcase the skills. Otherwise research or political expert roles are the only roles offered to Hindi Hons students. Since I want a complete command I will be doing masters in Hindi Hons.

DSC placements are not that great as around 30-40% students are placed and that is how it is here. Most students of Political Science go for higher studies or get job opportunities in political consultancy or journalism.

For placements, there's not much on campus placement programs. Our placement cells are active though. Time to time they keep us posted about the upcoming internship or job opportunities and even invite various organisations for placements. You can even look for off campus placement programs and teachers are very helpful in this. They even offer letter of recommendation for the internship opportunities upon request.

So there is a placement cell here in LSR that serves as a mediator between recruiters and students and provide adequate placement opportunities for students from various departments. Also companies like Blackstone, accenture, nomura come for placements and the highest package that has been offered to a student was INR 45 LPA!
