Christ University : The place of Mixed Feelings

The curriculum isnt only theoritical but also has lot of practical insights which helps us gain onfield experience and knowlegde.The course could have been made a little less hectic for the students and a bit of breaks could have been added in between them.The exams are really packed and we get a lot of assignments.

Christ University offers internships starting from 2nd year and its during summer breaks . The institutes and companies offering internships are Biocon,Syngene,IIsc and lot more . Many of the internships are paid and many of them are also unpaid.

At christ univeristy the fees varies for people who's domicile state is karnataka itself and for the ones who dont belong from karnataka .For me the fees was 1.35lacs and i got no scholarships. The people who have karnataka as a domicile state get a scholarship which reduces their annual fee which brings it down to 1.2 lacs. The fee may increase by 5% to 8% every year .Merit scholarships are available which are 10-50% depending upon the marks you have achieved.

We have a music and dance fest called Darpan which lights up our campus . We have a lot of clubs in christ like CCA ,CSA,WCC and a lot more . We also have a traditional day in christ where we all dress up in our traditional outfits and its a day full of fun and enjoyment.

I had applied to VIT VELLORE and also had got a confirmed offer letter from them but i decided to stick with christ because of the opportunities in bangalore.They provide us with internships from 2nd year onwards.The admission process for christ was pretty simple . We have to go through a interview and a micro presentation . The acceptance ratio is around 15% for this university .

The faculties are really approachable and we can go to there cabins post college ours for any of the doubts and they are very open about it.Our microbiology teacher Dr Mridul Umesh is a very qualified professor . He is very friendly and explains things really good.Dr Manikantan is one of the faculties which i dont like because of this stammering issue and bad handwriting.We have CIA1 followed by MID SEM EXAMS followed by CIA3 followed by END SEM EXAMS . The exams are pretty standard.

while admission there was a interview which also had a micro presentation and a skill assesment test.I panel of 2 3 people where in front of me who asked me basic biology and chemistry questions and also asked about myself and my family background .

The cafeteria has Mingos which has very good good . The library is well equipped and is open from 7am to 9 pm. The campus gates close at 9pm. The curfew time in hostels are 7pm.Birds park and central block cafeteria are one of the most famous hangout spots in christ university.In night the campus is well lit up and is very beautiful to look at.
