Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this course because of the dual degree that it has to offer, christ is one of the very few institutions that offer dual degree and allow you to explore both the subjects or gain combined knowledge of both the subjects. The curriculum is very up to date with subjects that relate to real world problems. What i like the most about my curriculum is the Learner centric approach where they divide the class into halves so that the teacher student ratio can be maintained in order to achieve full efficiency. One area of improvement can be inculcating more soft skills traininng into it.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yearly fees is 1 lakh 15 thousand for my course. The fees depends upon the course you take. courses like BBA , MBA, BCOM have higher fees comparatively. Apart from that no extra fees is being taken by the university, the registration fees for admissions was around 2k. Talking about the scholarships, so yes there are ample of them including scholarships for SC, ST, EWS as well as merit ones also. Before the beginner of the annual year the university will send you a pdf full of scholarship details, students can filter and apply according to their respective needs.
Campus Life
The extraxcurriculars in this unievrsity is one of the top experience i have had in here. there are vast array of options you can choose from in terms of selecting a club. there are club opoortunites for every hobby and interest, along with great growth also. They have 2 fest annually called as blossoms and darpan and it is basically competetion based fests where different departments compete for the trophy. Talking about the infrastrcuture especially the library, it is very well curated and consist of ample of good books and journals according to your interest , it is divided into various sections like philosophy, fiction , non fiction etc lastly in the classroom there is a projector and faculties generally use them to present the ppt from which they teach.
Admission
I actually have a pretty great academic background so i got into every college i applied to. basically i applied to 3 colleges: Christ, Amity (mumbai), Mount Carmel. I chose these colleges as I only wanted to pursue dual majors and these were few good colleges that offered them. I did not select Amity because it was ranked lower than christ and mount carmel. the main decision was between mount carmel and christ, but when i was thinking it through i did not wanted to go to a girls college plus the carmel's placement was slighlty lower than the placement records of christ. Lastly, in terms of psychology and economics, christ university is among the top colleges in India to get into and hence i chose this course. There were two rounds of admission: first the application round, once your application gets shortlisted you will be called for an interview annf micro presentation. Based on combined scores of both the rounds, your admission will be decided. The admission process was very structured.
Faculty
Faculty Members are very approachable in terms of carrer guidance and asking for doubts. Personally they are very fun to be with. In the 3rd semester they start something called as LCA course where the class gets divided into 3 halves which means 3 faculties for 1 class, this ensures that every student is being heard and understood. There are 3 types of exams: CIA , Mid sems and End sems. CIA is contibuous internal assessment. it is mostly assignment based like either you will have to do a case study or poster or a report. Mid sems are for 25 marks and end sem 50. 5 marks is for attendance as well. Lastly coming to marking scheme, so your result comes in terms of 4 CGPA.
Night Life
After college, students generally prefer to hangout in the canteen area. there are multiple canteens in christ that provided a variety of food options. apart from that, students also hangout in gyms, play arena etc. the hostel in christ in pretty strict in terms of timimgs and dresscode so majority of students prefer to live in a pg. the area nearby 1km to christ is filled with lot of affordable pg to choose from. talking specifically about the night life, in the night the Sg palya is filled with students from the univerisity who are either having chai or jamming, so the area becomes quite happening.
