What Students Say
Likes
- Atmosphere, professors, infrastructure, the student crowd
Dislikes
- The space in the campus is quite small it's a 23 acre so there are times when you don't have space to study or specially good group study. Also it constantly rains and there is no closed place for all students to meet like there is no auditorium
- Food is also not so good literally degrades with every month in a trimester
Course Curriculum Overview
- curriculum specially for BA is not like how you see in other universities it's a comprehensive curriculum where your also studying subject like AI learning, data analysis, regional languages and so much more it is a comprehensive course which is not only focusing on your major but also on an overall development of you as a student.. - well we are not only getting in-class lectures but we also have a internal component of internship every year which helps us get an experience of real world situations and job market. -There is one course called numbers we have that could be improved it basically talks about mathematical in economic applications numerical implications particularly which has not been given more thought on it could be more elaborated and structured well. - frequency is high and difficulty is moderate usually.
Internships Opportunities
One of the most unique feature of National Law School is that it's type to put it students in impeccable law firms once they complete education from here you are given several internship opportunities throughout your time in the university. You have the liberty to choose your internship yourself and if not they have a entire of his dedicated for helping you to get a internship and then further placements too.

Campus Life
- I only spent my first trimester here but till now we have had four to five events which included mixers freshers parties then we went told that there are programs and events which go week long called UNIV WEEK. Also there are several inter college competition like Jalsa a dance competition and many others. - Library of NLS is one of the best features of the university it has one of the biggest library of the country as well as the accessibility to book is limitless you as a law student would find every possible work you might need here. - The classroom here are also smart we will find both a white board and screens over there classrooms are designed in a form to get at least 100 to 150 students students seated in one place the ambience the furniture the infrastructure everything is impeccable. -There are several committees and collectives present in NLS which you can join once you get in you will find the committees and collective have their own independence as they are allotted a budget and then they can work through it throughout the year.
Hostel Facilities
In hostel rooms you are provided with a bed, a cot, table and chair and cupboard and you share your room with two others basically every room is a triple occupancy. The quality and hygiene of the food here is maintained very nicely though the taste of the food is a different thing entirely it might not be to many peoples liking. When your filling the admission forms and completing that process your already allotted a hostel during that point of time for every undergraduate students it's compulsory to live on campus. Hostels are a little expensive but they have very well maintained rooms. The University is in Nagarbhavi region of Bangalore you will be able to find several PG and rented rooms around as there are several other University adjacent to National Law School and the area comes under the city itself.
Admission
- I give you and got into indraprasth College of women under Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University I choose this college because I was going to study BA honours in all three and I felt that this one was comparatively more comprehensive and more rigorous then other two. - I also give CLAT but I was not able to perform very well in that except that I got into the colleges I applied for its just that I found NLS better than them and that's why I stayed here. -TO GET ADMISSION IN NLS YOU EITHER HAVE TO GIVE CLAT IF YOU WANT TO ENTER AS A LAW STUDENT AND YOU HAVE TO GIVE NLSAT IF YOU HAVE TO ENTER AS A UNDERGRADUATE BA STUDENT THERE ARE ALSO EXAMINATIONS FOR THE MASTERS DEGREE UNDER MPP AND LLB AS WELL AS LLM. FOR UNDERGRADUATING COURSES YOU NEED TO COMPLETE YOUR 12TH WITH MINIMUM OF 45% AND FOR THE POSTGRADUATE COURSES SPECIALLY FOR LLB YOU NEED TO HAVE A UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE. AND AS NLS HAS A COMPARATIVELY REGRESS ADMISSION PROCESS ITS A LITTLE HEART TO GET IN HAIR SPECIALLY THROUGH CLAT as it only take the top students basically top 100 students of CLAT in. Admission process is comparatively request but once you get in everything is smooth going and you get all the information through the college
Faculty
- the faculty to student ratio is quite got there are more professors then the students actually specially for BA honours group and teachers are extremely approachable they are very understanding and their help a student develop their Idea and understanding of the subject very well. - all the faculties were pretty approachable and great but for first trimester at least a professor of narrative that was Ammel Sharon and professor of my major that is Chandrabhan Yadav for history were pretty good, they both were the most easy to understand and always ready to compromise for us to understand and get a better understanding of the subject. - There were no such faculties - exams are constant here, you get into the campus and two weeks into it you have to give your first midterm or that's what happened at least for us. This is a constant for NLS students.
Interview Experience
Yes you need to clear a entrance test for any course of NLS. Its usually a difficult task to get in as the competition is quite rigorous and you have to have patience and determination to crack it. The syllabus for clat examination included 5 subject that is English legal studies logical reasoning quantitative aptitude and general knowledge.
Night Life
- NLS unlike other universities is situated in the city itself so you have access to almost everything all the time which makes it comparatively more expensive but at the same time easier to live in a strange new city. NLS has its own gym it has to mess halls where you are provided with food as said before library is one of the best feature of the university and all in all public areas and life here is very open. -both hostel and college are open 24/7 and students are free to come in and leave at any point of time they are been given independent to do so according to themselves as their treated as adults in the university. - inside the university there are 2 places students usually like to hangout first being ashu's and second being food box.
