Likes
- The environment of the college. Its green and beautiful and well maintained.
- Despite being a small campus, there are more than enough facilities such as computer labs, auditorium, conference room, sports arena, a criminology lab and a psychology lab etc. There is also a hostel though only for girls.
- The chairs and tables of the classes are in very good condition and comfortable. overall the maintenance of the college is very good.
Dislikes
- The college canteen is very small and is closed very often. I wish they had better quality of food so that we could eat at college itself.
- The english department of the college needs to get more experienced teachers.
- The college needs to have more water coolers so that students can fill water.
Course Curriculum Overview
I got a bachelor of arts degree in criminology, psychology and english optional. The branches of criminology and psychology are upcoming in India in the present time. Course taught is revelant and in present. It is regularly updated. I chose tge course mainly due to criminology. Various aspects of the subject is covered in 6 semesters such as forensic, ballistics, cyber, laws, victimology etc. They do take us on field visits. There is one mid sem exam and one final exam. There is record work as well as assignments given at regular interval. The difficulty level is medium.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees is very nominal. In all 3 years of our course,my fees never exceeded 40,000 per year. I belong to general category so i didnt have any benefits. But those who belonged to reserved categories did have some benefits and scholarships available. Exam fees was to be paid separately. It was around 750/- in first 2 years and then it increased to around 900 in tge final year.
Campus Life
We had various types of external activities. We were taken on industrial visits and internships. Apart from these the college organizes college fest for 2 to 3 days filled with various events and competition. Clubs like YRC, NCC and NSS are also present. NSS ans NCC are taken on thier visits as well. Leo club is also present at the college. College library is good. All the relevant course materials and more is present. It is available to every student on campus. In addition, there is newspapers, journals, magazines and books required for upsc preparation.
Admission
Admission process included submission of our 10th and 12th markscard along with admission form. My Admission was during covid so all this took place online. We had on call interview once the application was accepted. In person interview would be better.
