Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course of psychology is one that changes your views and aspects of the people around you, rather than judging them you start analyzing why they are the way they are and how certain events must have shaped their mind into that form of mentality. Opens eyes to a new world providing deeper insight into people that others normally miss, interesting experiments to know the mind too. It applies everywhere in daily interactions. Would be better if more smart technology was allowed. The exams are scheduled at the semester ends and in between them, they have gaps in between and their difficulty depends on the subject and length of syllabus.

Internships Opportunities

3

Internship opportunities are good, especially for commerce and bba students. As a ba student in first year i do not have much knowledge about it. My seniors hace received placements and given some exams.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are good. Students arw given chances to take exams and get job opportunities from there. Field trips and internships, orientations, talk shows are organized to prepare students further before stepping out for jobs. They can either take the placements they get or opt for higher studies, which is what i am doing as a degree in psychology alone does not grant a wide scope in the jobs spectrum.

Fees and Financial Aid

A registration fee of 25k, admission fee of 1k and yearly fee of 80k including uniforms. Higher for Commerce students, in lakhs. Scholarship forms available ay start of semester and granted by end of it. No compulsory charges or other fees. Yearly fees range around 60k-70k each year.

Campus Life

5

Many fests are held to the point you lose count. The college is mostly alive with celebrations and sone event at least twice a month. Lively environment with interactive engaging bunch of people. Library hosts a large array of books of every genre, must be careful to renew and return on time. Many sports and clubs are offered, good for gaining credits. Open up new opportunities, field trips, events, etc.

Hostel Facilities

3

Common necessities like fan, bunk beds, hangers, cupboard shelves provided depending on capacity of room. Some have shared bathrooms. Warm water provided at specific times or during hot days as they run on solar. Terrace for clothes and a section for washing them. Three meals per day and water dispenser for ice, normal and hot water. Allowed to order food or stuff till 9.30pm. Can use online delivery apps. Food quality is not so good. Hostel is affordable, there are two hostels in 5minute distance of the campus. The curfew is too strict at 6.30,warden must be informed by parents if late.

Admission

I was too late in applying for other colleges as i was opting for the medical field and neet was messed up this year along with nedical problems. This college was chosen for its relatively lower fees and good atmosphere, helpful faculty and environment. The admission process requires a uucms registration , online admission form and an interview before you get the message of selection. Better to view the campus and hostel before coming. Would recommend living in rent houses if possible. Theres no entrance exam, you're asked to submit your pu marksheets and grades of any other entrance exams you've taken. Also accepts cbse and isc icse boards for north east students. Admission is smooth long as you pay the fees and fill the forms on time.

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio is good, easy to approach faculty depending on your bond wifh them. Relatively friendly and helpful teachers long as you dont disrupt class and take them seriously and want to improve. Depends on your judgement of people to like a teacher or not. Exams range from 6-9 subjects depending on your course and additional courses. Easy long as you follow syllabus and notes, have gaps in between. Most students manage to pass as the pass marks is relatively easy to achieve. Course is relevant to curriculum.

Night Life

4

Most students spend time near the campus after classes. One cafeteria and two canteens are available to choose from for food, many places to sit around and enjoy it. The library is open till 4 , the college is open till 6 pm. Gyms and staff rooms are also open. The hostel closes at 6.30. The neighborhood is pretty safe but its good to not go alone and takr any risks.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because of the dual degree that it has to offer, christ is one of the very few institutions that offer dual degree and allow you to explore both the subjects or gain combined knowledge of both the subjects. The curriculum is very up to date with subjects that relate to real world problems. What i like the most about my curriculum is the Learner centric approach where they divide the class into halves so that the teacher student ratio can be maintained in order to achieve full efficiency. One area of improvement can be inculcating more soft skills traininng into it.

The students are eligible to sit for placement in their final years. The companies which comes for the placement are deloitte, goldmanSachs, amazon and many more reputed companies. And they do make many offers. The highest package reports around 30 LPA and the average goes on around 3 to 4.5 LPA. Around 70-90 percent get placements. My plans is to pursue higher studies.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements towards the final semester of their course. Currently, I have only been using the help of my faculty for internship opportunities, since I am not looking for placements. But they have connections with big names in the communication sector, and they often have personalities coming in to give talks and interact with the students. A great number of students opt for placements and approximately 90% of them do end up getting posted at really good companies. Others choose to continue with higher education. My plan after receiving my degree would be to take up a diploma in literature in the UK, while simultaneously finding myself a position at a good publishing house there.

Placement Experience:

From my seniors, I hear that 20/30 % of students from our college get placed. But now being in my final sem I know the reality. For covid and lockdown, the placement sector has been badly hit. Only a handful of companies came this year (5/6 companies). 4/5 people from our batch are placed but no placement for the big chunk of people. From 5th sem students become eligible for placements but in 5th sem, no company came to our college for placement this year. Only in the 6th sem, the placement cell started. Companies that visited till now ( some of them came to take interns and didn't offer full-time jobs) 1) Clevertize, 2) Social Panga, 3) Robert Bosch GmbH, 4) Saatchi & Saatchi, 5) Publicis, 6)PR Pundit, 7) McKinsey, 8) Edsol Edtech, 9) Momo Media, 10) MSL, 11) Genesis BC, Offers: 1.5-3 LPA (average). I plan to send CVs personally to companies through LINKEDIN and other job search platforms because the college hasn't provided us with good placement offers as claimed.
