Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course and curriculum is the main part of Scaler, the subjects taught are very relevant and although it might seem a bit hectic, our curriculum tries to atleast cover the majority of tech aspects (blockchain, cybersecurity, machine learning, mechatronics, etc.) and it is highly beneficial for us to be updated and exposed to latest tech developments.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are many internship opportunities given to us by Scaler itself. The stipend actually depends on the role you are working on. Most of the students apply for off-campus. So, i can't state an exact stipend amount. But the exposure and opportunities are enough to expand your network.

Placement Experience

5

There is no such thing as placements for now (in 1st year here) but in our second year, we have placement support here. We have compulsory internship at our Second year. We only have 2 batches, 1st Year and 2nd Year. But for now, among our seniors 60% of them hold internships and others are either building something or scaling their skills. For now, we don't have any placement records but according to scaler academy, it will be aroung 24 Lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total course fee is 22,00,000 for the batch 2024 (increased for the upcoming batch). The tution fee is as: First Year - 3,25,000 Second Year - 4,00,000 Third Year - 4,00,000 Fourth Year - 3,25,000 There is no category based fee difference. Scholarships are available for those who have: Achieved high feat in codeforces, codechef or holding a tech award. Scored a good percentile in JEE Mains (around 98-99%ile). Having offer letters from top colleges. Special scholarships for female students (conditional). Merit based scholarship.

Campus Life

3

InSSTpire, Yugaantar and other fests are there which have many fun activities open for all. Library is there and you can issue the books from the macro campus. Classrooms are quite huge and there are internet facilities in both macro and micro campus. We have a cricket/football turf , 2 badminton courts and a table tennis table here, which is not enough for us. It's one of the major cons here at SST. There are many clubs such as : creators club, media club, sports club , cultural club, CP club, OSS club, ML club, Drama club and many more.

Hostel Facilities

4

We all are given a PG (Uniworld). Here, at the morning, cleaners come to clean you room, washroom and fans. Then the food is served at the 5th floor (mess area). We call this PG , the Micro Campus. It is loccated in Electronic city itself.

Admission

I've applied to many colleges such as : BITS Pilani, IIIT Guwahati, NID Ahmedabad, NIFT Gandhinagar, IIITDM Jabalpur, NIT Surat, DAIICT, MSU and LNMIIT. I got selected in all those colleges but still decided to come and study here at SST to pursue my passion in CSE and Graphic Designing. I rejected other colleges because of many reasons, some beacause of the climate, some because of the curriculum and one the main reason was the course structure. I wasn't able to get CSE in top IIT's and i wanted to come to Bangalore where weather wont be a reason for my health issues as it was in Gujarat.

Faculty

5

The faculties are very friendly, so they are easily approachable. I you want any guidance, just go to the board room in the free time, they'll clarify any doubts you have. We have 3-4 subjects, Computer Programming(DSA), Web- Development, Mthematics(Linear Algebra and others for Machine Learning) and English (Communication improvement). We have 4 semesters here (according to trisemester). So the exams are quite frequent. While we have hands on learning , we also have coding contest like exams. They will provide you a contest environment and after submission there will be a leaderboard determining your ranking. Difficulty level of exams totally depends on your preparation.

Night Life

4

There will be a cult pass given to you by Scaler, so you can go anywhere and enter any nearest cult gym. We one near our campus. Most of our clasees starts from 10:00 Am till 1:30 Pm The locality is very peaceful, you can even wander at night (before 10:30 Pm). The is an amphitheatre, many jamming sessions are there, so students do chill out there. We have a TV room where you can just connct your laptop and controller and start playing games of your choice.

Placement Experience:

At St Aloysius University, students typically become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester onward. Reputed companies like Infosys, wipro, TCS etc have visited the campus offering multiple roles in IT services, research and analytics. The highest package has been around 7-8 LPA while the average has been around 3-4 LPA depending on the company and the profile of the student. Around 60-70% of eligible students secure placement each year

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate it around 8/10 for relevance and comprehensiveness. I chose this course because it offered solid foundational subjects that aligned with my interests. The curriculum prepares students well for higher studies and provides decent exposure to lab techniques. However, for real world readiness, it could be improved. Teaching methods are mostly theory-heavy and would benefit from interactive approaches. Exams are moderately difficult and conceptual clarity and regular revision helps in scoring well.

Students in their fifth and sixth semesters are eligible for the campus placement cell. Only 50 -60% of students get campus placement offers. I would get into post-grad courses like an MSc in physics.

Remarks:

Positive remarks: • The senior, junior, classmates are very helpful and cooperative. • The professors are also very helpful and concerned about our studies. Negative remarks: The authority is not so helpful. They take many steps against the students' sake and this is the main cause for decreasing the college's overall performance.
