Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum offers a lot of opportunities in the form of competitions and various paper writing, which makes the course interesting. It also provides real-world experiences through a compulsory one-month internship, so that students learn law in practical terms. The improvements that can be made in the curriculum are that it can be lighter and less hectic for students because, due to Continuous internal assessment, it becomes a lot more hectic. The difficulty of the exam is medium, but they can improve on frequency and give more gaps between the exams.

Internships Opportunities

4

As first-year law students, we have been provided the internship opportunities; however, they were unpaid internships, but they provided a lot of knowledge, and we learned a lot of new things and gained a lot of experience from them. The law chambers we interned under were Mishra Thomas Associates and Farooqi Law Associates, both located in Koramangla. We were given basic research roles as new interns for cases of the lawyers. However, our college also provides an opportunity to intern under big firms like CAM and SAM with a stipend of around 15000-20000 rupees.

Placement Experience

4

The placements of Christ University Bangalore, are pretty decent. Students are eligible to get placements for the 9th semester, and there are a lot of companies that come for campus placements like Shardul Amrchnad Mangaldas and Cyril Amrchand Mangaldas, Khaitan, Puviyah and co., Trilegal and etc. The highest placement that went last year was 23 lakh, and the average placement is 6-7 lakhs. My plan is to do litigation after getting a degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

As a first-year law student, I can share the detailed fee structure and scholarship opportunities offered by Christ University, Bangalore. The total course fees is Rs 2,60,000 per year, and importantly, these fees have remained constant over 5 years without any increase. The registration fees we paid were Rs 20,000 while the tuition fee is Rs 2,60,000. There are no additional charges like development fees, caution fees, or lab fees. The structure is straightforward and transparent. Another feature is that there is no reservation-based categorization in the fee structure, meaning everyone in the college are same and pay the same amount. The college provides a supportive ecosystem with meaningful internship opportunities to gain practical exposure. The intership committee also provided me with an intership in a law chamber in Koramangala, Bangalore which helped me gain lot of insights and experience.

Campus Life

4

The college infrastructure is quite big and there are a lot of committees and clubs to take part in, which provide a lot of fun and recreational activities. The social life of college is great and beautiful; it also provides a lot of ice-breaking sessions for good interaction between students. The college has lot of events like Basha Utsav, which is a cultural fest where everyone represents their culture, also sports events like Juristar and Pedgocig League. The college infrastructure has a library with almost every book you need, more than 50 thousand books, also we have smart classes with digital screens, which help integrate technology in teaching.

Admission

I chose this college over other law colleges because this provides a good location advantage, and also it has a great reputation, also it provides really good future opportunities. This college also provides better placements than other colleges. Other colleges that were better than this college are national law universities, but I was not able to get admission there because my CLAT rank was not high enough to get admission. Students have to give an exam called CULEE to get admission in Christ, and eligibility is for anyone who has passed class 12th from a recognized board. Also, the entrance exam is divided into 2 phases: one is a computer-based test, and then an interview.

Faculty

4

Faculty in our college are highly qualified professors, and they have great teaching skills, there is a good faculty-to-student ratio of 1:15, that makes sure that every student is prioritized and given importance. The faculty is very approachable and gives a lot of importance to students. Some of the faculties I like are Ashwin Kunal sir, who teaches LLJP. There is no such faculty I don't like. The exam structure and the Exam system are governed by Office of Examination. The exams are divided into Continuous internal assessments, which include CIA 1, CIA 2, which is also known as mid-semester exams, and CIA 3. All three of them constitute 50 marks, and the other 50 marks is for the End Semester examination. The exams have medium difficulty, and students who fail give re-exams or compartment exams to pass the semester.

Interview Experience

5

the questions were mainly related to christ only howecer they aslo asked about other questions like curresnt affirs and law related questions, to prepare for these rounds a person can study from various souces like google and collegedunia also and self study would also work

Night Life

5

The college provides a great nightlife; however, the college gate closes at 9:30 pm, but the locality outside the college, known as SG Palya, is always awake, providing an amazing nightlife life and the roads of Koramangala add beauty and thrill to nightlife. There lot of eateries outside college and inside the college campus, also the Koramangala area is a favorite spot of Christ students to hang out, Sg palya is one of the safe spots to hang out.

Some merchant bankers too are now a part of our placements thing and this is where it is getting interested as we are getting to explore new opportunities. Pay as of now is around 4-5 LPA but I hope it increases to atleast 10 by 2030.

The university has a placement cell which is helpful. They help us get internships in which place we want (only if we are eligible). The placements are nice which are reported by the seniors. We got to know that most of the seniors had a starting package of 7L per annum.

Mostly it's the law firms like Indus Law, Globus, PICT and others. The payment scale therefore is less when it is compared with NLSIU or other NLUs. Some private companies like the UB Group and ITC amoung other others are also coming to hire students who have chosen corporate law as their main electives.
