Dislikes
- 1. One thing which irritated me alot was the attendance issues as we are supposed to maintain our 66.7 percent attendance, due to this we aren't able to do on site internships and missed a lot of opportunities outside class.
Course Curriculum Overview
Being a commerce high schooler, I wasn't aware much about the English hons at first even I was not a reader but this course made me one of them, I started reading and even completed one of my novels in one night. So that was the effect of this course on me. I'm liking it now and very grateful to be here in one of the best colleges pursuing this course.
Fees and Financial Aid
Like any other DU college here in my college i.e Sri Venkateswara college, for the three year degree program we have to pay yearly fees at the starting of the odd semesters. Talking about my batch (2022-25), fees for 1st year was 15000, then 17500 for the 2nd year and 18600 for the final year. This fees includes all the hidden charges like development fees, tuition fees etc. There is no extra penny we have to pay apart from this fees. Only the exam registration we have to pay, that is decided subject wise by the Delhi University itself.
Campus Life
There is our annual fest NEXUS which is one the best fest of DELHI UNIVERSITY, various other DU college societies take part in that. We have our own societies which are very active in Delhi University. The library is newly built and there are vast no of books and novels to read and issue there from, there is even reading room there for studying. Our college have one the best cricket team and the goat Rishab pant was from our college only.
Admission
I was from one of the experimental batch of 2022, the CUET batch. CUET happened for first time and I messed up with my preference list considering College over course. So long story short I was from commerce and I had choosen 3 courses for me to pursue in DU, (B.com hons, B.com and English hons), but while making my preference list. I chose bcom hons, b.com and then English hons north campus Colleges to put at first then south campus and then off campus. But one thing I would suggest you guys to put your course first and then college. I was selected in J.C Bose university, Faridabad (b.com hons) that is the state owned university
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio would depend course to course. And the English faculties of my college are okayish, I won't say they are much approachable and most of them are very professional in the class which I felt and many of my classmates felt. We have semester exams that is total 6 semester exams according to our university norms
Night Life
There is satya niketan near to my college where lot of pgs and flats are there and even alot lot of cafes to hangout with friends and celebrate your birthday with. Students are allowed in college campus till 5pm then they are asked to vacate the campus and hostel timings are till 9pm. For hostellers
