What Students Say
Likes
- I liked Amphitheater. It was an open area where extra-curricular activities would be usually conducted. That was the place where many inaugral funtions took place. Since it was an open area one would not feel suffocated.
- I like the food in the food court. Though i must say the food in the food court is a little expensive but the quality is the best. Its hygeinic and the taste is just really very good. Its woth the money. There is also a bakery next to the food court.
- I like kuteera. It is basically like a smaller version of the food court where one would get snacks and beverages. And since its located right next to the playgroud its really helpful to grab a drink or two when one is thristy.
Dislikes
- I disliked that the Amphitheatre had to be taken down to construct a building since the intake was increasing and there was a lack for classroms and labs.
- i dislike the fact that some of the professors are very much knowledgeable in specific areas of study, but they are given some other stuff to teach. i feel thats really very unfair.
- I dislike the huge intake that is being taken in. The college feels a little way too crowded and suffocated at times.
Course Curriculum Overview
The main reason i chose the course Computer Science and Business Systems was beacause of the growing demand for candidates with knowledge in technical as well as business applications in the industry. The curriculum prepares the students well for the placements. On a scale of the 10 the difficulty levels of the exams are 7. They are not so hard but they so test ones application level of thinking and remembrance.
Internships Opportunities
Students are given the freedom to apply for internships in any year. A number of companies taken in interns every year. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Accenture and many other reputed companies visit the college for placements.
Placement Experience
The placeement percentage the previous year was 79 percent. Some students sit for the placement drive whereas some opt for higher studies and some also opt for venturing into a startup. The highest package offered last year was 27lpa, average package was 7.9lpa.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am doing my B.Tech degree in Computer Science and Business Systems and my fee structure is comparatively less when compared to others because i joined through a fee waiver scheme through KCET. So apparently my fees for the 1st year was 32k and for the second year it was 24k. The fees gradually decreses every year. But for other students who joined through KCET the fees is nearly 90k in the 1st year and and if its through COMEDK then the fees ranges around 3L. For management the fees for my particular course is 4L per year. And there is no scholarship as of now that is being provided by the college but there is a government scholarship that the students can apply for and if they are eligible they get the scholarship benefits. There are other courses and the management fees for them are as follows: 1. Computer Science and Engineering: 6,50,000 per year 2. Computer Science and Business Systems: 4,50,000 per year 3. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning: 5,50,000 per year 4. Civil Engineering: 1,50,000 5. Mechanical Engineering: 1,50,000 6. Electronics and Communication Engineering: 3,50,000 7. Electrical and Electronics Engineering: 2,00,000 The above are the fees for B.Tech programs. BMSIT&M also provides masters programs for Business Administration, Computer Applications, Computer Science Engineering and Cyber Security. And the management quota fees for them are as follows: 1. Masters in Business Administration: 4,00,000 2. Masters in Computer Applications: 3,50,000 3. M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering: 75,000 4. M.Tech in Cyber Security: 1,50,000
Campus Life
The college offers a lot of clubs for the students ito indulge themselves in and improve their social skills. There are a lot student run clubs and societies in the campus. There are wide range of books, journals, research papers, ebooks availabele in the libraray.
Admission
I chose BMSIT&M over others because my rank in KCET was 9k and this was the college that i would get based on the cut-offs. Also that the college has good reputation, good ranking also good placement percentage.
Faculty
The facukty student ratio in bmsit is 1:30. The relationship between a student and faculty is quite well. Professors are approachable and clarify ones doubts whenever they are free. Since my branch was intoduced just 2 years ago and there was just one class, so my department has just 4 faculty as of now. But i hope it improves in the future. They conduct 3 internal examinations and 1 external examination in one semester. The course curriculum is designed in such a way that the students are made industry ready.
Night Life
The sports department is open within the hours of 12:00 to 16:30. The cafeteria is open throughout the weorking hours of the college. Library is even open on sundays during internals and external examinations. Campus timings are 8:30am to 4:15pm. Hostel is open mostly throughout the day. Since i am not a hostelite i am not aware about the timingsof it.
