Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is really holistic, it includes a variety of subjects. The curriculum focuses both on the conceptual as well as the practical aspect of the studies. There are many things in the curriculum that create practical knowledge like case competitions, projects, tie-ups with real companies for consultation projects, etc. these prepare us for the industry and these factors were a part of the reason i chose this course. The only problem is sometimes the coursework gets really hectic as there are many tests, assignments, projects and presentations scheduled in the same week and it gets difficult to complete.

Internships Opportunities

5

There are many companies that offer internship to our college students, like recently jsw offered one with a stipend of 80 thousand per month and before that we had namo offering 55 thousand per month. There were other companies as well like lenskart, hero, etc. i however interned with an NGO based on my preferences and interests.

Placement Experience

5

Students from the 4th and 5th semester become eligible to participate in the placement process. Approximately 90% of the students get jobs in their dream companies. The major recruiters recently are accenture, jsw, bain & company, bcg, namo, hero, etc. the highest package offered was 36.5 lpa while the average package stands at 10 lpa. I plan on getting a placement through college after completing my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fee depends on different admission category, for me it is 26000 for month but it varies for others. There are no other compulsory charges. However, we have to pay the exam fee to delhi university every semester which is about 1000-1500 ruppees. And besides that, books have to be purchased separately, or we can borrow them from our college library free of cost. There are numerous financial aid and scholarship programmes offered by the college for the underprivileged children on the basis of need and merit. There are about 30-40 scholarships atleast. Most of them are for the people whose parents earn less than 8kakhs per annum or less than 4 lakhs per annum.

Campus Life

5

The facilities in campus are great, a tripple storey library stocked with books, big computer labs and science labs, classrooms with projectors, clean washrooms, a huge sports complex with all equipments and coaches for all sports. Our basketball, football and cricket teams are among the best teams in delhi. The campus is very lively and vibrant and there are many fests like the flagship fest of the colleg- mecca- which happens around april, besides that all departments and societies conduct their annual fests in different months, like the annual commerce fest- zeitgeist- in march, the annual fashion fest- panache- in april, the annual social entrepreneurship fest- enexus- in February. Also, the founders day of the college falls on 15th of February and is celebrated at a big scale by the college. The college crowd is really welcoming and friendly. There are people from different backgrounds, which provides exposure.

Admission

I got into IIM Rohtak as well but i chose Hindu College over it because the fee for iim was really high and there were a lot of other compulsory charges that made it even more high, almost un-affordable. And the return on investment was not as good so i did not think it was value for money. Whereas, hindu college has a really minimal fee and a really amazing infrastructure, facilities, curriculum and faculty which made it more value for money for me. The admission process for IIM rohtak includes an aptitude test round, subjects in the test are quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning and english. Then the shortlisted students appear for an interview round after which final admissions are announced. For Hindu College, we have to appear for a written exam only which is CUET conducted by NTA. There is no other round.

Faculty

5

The faculty is really great and helpful, there is approximately a 1:20 ratio between the faculty and the students which is really good. We can approach our professors outside lectures for assistance. All my professors are equally special to me and all of them are the best! Exams are held at the end of every semester and they are quite difficult. Thorough knowledge is needed and only the ones who have studied the subject regularly can score good. Approximately 5% students fail to clear an exam.

Night Life

5

The hostel in time is 10pm which gives enough time to explore the city. Favourite hangout sports inside the college are the canteen, amphitheater- the open theatre, the lawns, etc and outside college there is kamla nagar and hudson lane barely 1.5 km away which is a 5 min rikshaw ride. Both these areas are lined with cafes and fun gaming spots to unwind after college and enjoy with friends. There are also a lot of brand outlets in this area making it perfect for shopping. There are other places like the gyms which are paid and free libraries to hangout. The locality is safe for the students.

Other Applied Colleges

IIM Rohtak Indian Institute of Management | Integrated Programme in Management [IPM]

The tuition fee was very high and there were a lot of extra charges as well. Did not seem value for money.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was preparing for CA also that's why I opted for Bcom, rest no other factors. But the curriculum of the college was best. They covered our whole syllabus on time. Everything was just perfect. There's semester system at my time. Every year we have 2 semester exams and you can clear the exam if you have studied everything your teacher taught. Examination level was moderate only.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum itself is offered under delhi University is the biggest pro of this college I liked the aspect that it tries to capture the essence of holistic development by introducing skill enhancement courses, value addition courses and ability enhancement courses It also facilitates dynamic learning experience by offering the courses from different departments such as general electives I still believe that there is a space for improvement in the applicability of this course in the real world as the world is growing at a fast paced and we need to prepare ourselves with everything we can Intership opportunities, live projects of certain subjects , increased field trips and introduction of ai courses Frequency is good ,1 per semester which helps students to take on different ventures also and the difficulty level is mixed depending upon the subject but ranges from moderately easy to difficult

Course Curriculum Overview:

There's no such specific aspect to be very honest, I was clear since my 12th standard only that I'll be doing BCom hons in my undergraduation. The core subjects provides you valuable knowledge for sure but there's nothing to learn from AEC, SEC and VAC subjects (they are useless). I think teachers should start focusing more and like in my 3rd semester, there are 2 teachers for each of my core subject, this should be eliminated because it creates confusion among students. Exams usually ends in 1 month and mostly my exams were in the morning shift which is 9:30-12:30 but it gets difficult during winters to reach to college on time and sometimes you have to wait too for 20-30 minutes outside for the gate to open.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think there's too much unnecessary subjects given in the name of VAC and SEC and AEC becuae the options are completely irrelevant to the course. I'm a bcom student why will I study political science or hindi. If it's important to have these many subjects then give us subjects which are relevant to our course. There's mandatory EVS subject too and I think I have learned all that thing already in school so there's no need to study that.
