Course Curriculum Overview

5

i really liked psychology since 9th grade and i wanted to pursue it since then. and some of the papers are very interesting like organisational behavior and like understanding mental disorders really liked these papers. we get a lot of holidays inbetwee the exams so even if you arent prepared for the exams you can easily study in the prep leave which is for 4 days usually between every exam and pass in the exam.

Internships Opportunities

5

there are various intership oppourtunities in the commerce depatment you can do it in the second year it self and the professors are also very helpful. idk about the other departments like our dept doesnt offer.

Fees and Financial Aid

the year wise fees is different for all the the courses for my coursr its 23000 approx. all the others kinds of fee is included i this itself. you can check the official jmc website for the other fees sturcture of the other courses you can see there. there are a lot of scholarships available like meirt based , need based financial assistance , student aid fund. overall its affordable.

Campus Life

5

there are annual college fest montage which takes place either in feb or march and we have annual sports day too during the same time. i think all the books are easily availble in our library it is very big. we have whiteborads, backboards and projectors in the call and teachers mostly use the projectors. student portal is ther to check your attendence and college notifications and a lot of socities are ther elike drama clubs both hindi and english, art culd , e cell . and placement celll etc and i and in the HR society, we also have a student council

Admission

my first preference was LSR but i didnt get in and my second option was JMC i got this in the third round of alllocation in the first round of allocation i got IPCW for the same couse psychology hons but i didnt freeze my seat and went for an upgrade because JMC was a better college and it was near my house like literally 10 mins away so i wanted JMC only. i had applied to IIMs for the integrated 5 year course but i didnt get in because maybe the field wasnt for me and the entrance was very tough. i got in SCMS noida for BBA but i didnt go there because that was my back up option. to get addmission in du you need to give CUET. And give the exams of the subjects which are required for the coure you want to pursue. the addmission experience was great you get updated through the website itself the cutoff was very high like very high

Faculty

5

the teachers of the psychology dept are very approachable you can talk to them about anything. i like the commmerece and sociology facalty too they are very sweet. there are only end sems exams.there are no mid sem exams so thats a big relief usually the students pass the exams because its not that difficult basic questions come in the exam its like 12th boards. the curriculum of psychology hons cousre is very interesting.

Night Life

5

there is a gym in the college itself and students can use it. theres no hostel in the campus you caqn take a Pg in satya niketan. the canteen is VERY GOOD I TOTALLY LOVE IT and it has a wide variety of menu. sarojini nagr is very close to college. and various cafe like diggin are also very close by

university of delhi have have started compulsory of courses such as VAC ,SEC and many other skill enhancement courses so that you not only rely upon your degree but you enhance your Interpersonal Skills , Communication Skills ,Speaking Skills as in future all jobs and placements are skill based not degree based so for enhanceing and developing a good personality these courses played a major role. The timings of examination were between 2,30-5,30 Pm 3 hours exam water facility was provided during the exam tenure. If in case you forgot to attend or submit your either of IA/CA you may get an essential repeat er even iof you pass in the written exam .

Course Curriculum Overview:

British classics, Indian writing, postcolonial literature builds a strong foundation in literary analysis, critical thinking, and interpretation, which are useful skills. As for comprehensiveness, the curriculum is quite broad. It covers multiple literary periods, genres, and critical theories over the three years, so you’re not really missing out on the essentials. In that sense, it feels academically complete. But sometimes, it leans more towards breadth over depth you move quickly from one topic to another.

There's a placement cell and placement drives do happen in college but genuinely the package offered is not really considerable. After the 4th semester students are considered to sit in the placement drives though I would say it is not very efficient and fruitful.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The curriculum was overall good and being a economics honours courses it was challenging at times. The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

The reason why I choose this subject because I like history and want to know more about it . History have the best opportunities to pursue the UPSC , Anthropology, archeology and we can learn more about historical researches . The faculty im the department of history is updated and well versed in the field of history and have adopted student friendly teaching methods which make me suggest this subject in JMC to the students who likes to pursue higher studies in history. The exams are conducted at the end of every semester with moderate difficulty level .
