Course Curriculum Overview

3

I wanted to be an data analyst which requires a keen knowledge of statistics, python, structured query language,R software. And my course includes mostly all these subjects. My course is mostly based on mathematics and statistics which will come handy for me in future and this will help me save my time later when the knowledge of this will be required. This curriculum will help me with my dream of being an data analyst . I wish my teacher taught me more in practical way rather than the theoretical way. I wish the focused more on the programing language and gave the practical labs more time and space. There are two exams in a single semester one are internal exams and other is end term exams . There is no datesheet for the internal exams and there is a datesheet released for end term exams . Internal exams are conducted by the teacher themselfs and they can take them anytime they want and they are of 30 marks and is of an hour. And end terms exams are of 90 marks and we are given three hours for the exams. The difficulty of exams are pretty low .the question paper is not that lengthy . It sometimes can be lengthy . But mostly the exam can be completed within given hours. All end term exams are conducted from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Only staticts start from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

Fees and Financial Aid

My yearly fees is only fourteen thousand to fifteen thousand .we have to pay extra fifteen to eighteen thousand for writting the exams per year . The lab fees , tuition fees and development charges are covered in the yearly fees .there are scholarship for economic weaker section . The college can even remit the fees. And there is a fee difference for different categories for example if you are general category you have to pay 15000 to 20000 yearly whereas for sc ,st they only have to pay 5000 to 6000.There is a difference of 2 and 3 thousand for other courses not much of a difference. The fees of the course is based On the number of labs in the course. The fees increase each and every semester and every year . The yearly increase is upto 1000 . The increase in semester is upto 1500 per semester . But mainly increase is dependent on the number of practicals per semester. For every backlog exam you have to pay extra 500 to write the exam again .

Campus Life

In my college there is a fest which is conducted every year from around february to March for 3 days. The name of the fest is Yuvan. On the very first day of the fest each department can conduct the competitions. For example if you are from electronic department you can conduct a remote control car racing competition. And if you are from maths department you can conduct a competition of chest or skudo. If you are from journalism department you can conduct a photographic competition . On the second day of the fest other competitions are conducted which are more ethical such as dancing , singing and art. and students from different college even IIT can come and perform there. There is also prices for the competitors and the highest amount money was 5000 last year. Third day is the DJ night and some famous singer or a dance group is invited to perform in our college. last year augusta boy band performed in the premises. There are many different departments in our college and I am from mathematical department and in our department there is a society called ramanujan. And I am the information and tech head there. These society organise their own fest for 2 days every year. Usually on the first day there is a competition and on the 2nd may there is a quiz which is performed among the students of the college and the members of society cannot participate. Our college also have many sports such as badminton ,Kabaddi ,football ,cricket, basketball as well and there is also a inter college competition among the students for the sports. There is also a North eastern society in our college which have their separate club and in that club they promote their culture as well as a organise many events.

Admission

I have given cuet and applied for 50+ college of Delhi University. Which included bachelor in mathematics, bachelors in mathematical sciences and bachelors in biodata and bachelors in botany and bachelors in zoology and many more. And based on the preference list of colleges I got into maharaja agarsen college of Delhi University in the course of bachelor of science ( mathematical science). I choose to proceed with this course as it included all the subject I needed to study and wanted in future. yes , i got rejection from dipsaar college . I applied for bpharma there. But due to my low score i couldn't secure a seat their. Their cutoff was pretty high and I couldn't reach their cut off . The cutoff wa totally based on the result of 12th class. For admission , firstly I filled an admission form online and submit all the official documents online such as birth certificate, addhar card, results of 12th and 10th class and also character certificate. And then I paid the fee online only. Also with the fees I didn't have to pay any additional protection fee. Then we had to visit the college for Orientation day . We were invited through a mail. In the orientation we were given the information about our course ,teachers and classes . Also we were given refreshments . And the addmission process was smooth not at all difficult. I got in the college with 70 percent on my cuet score. And you have to be from science or commerce background also you must have maths in your subjects to apply for this course otherwise you will not be shortlisted for the same.

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio in my college is around 1 : 54. There are 54 students under 1 teacher . One teacher teaches minimum one subject and maximum 2 subjects and a teacher can only teach upto 2 class at the same time .The relation ship between the students and teachers is more or like a sweet and sour combo as there are students who have a good connection with teachers and there are also some students who doesn't have a good connection with the teacher . But mostly teachers are approachable and if asked they can clearly clear your doubts . My favourite teacher is dr prasanan who is the head of faculty. He is very helpfull. If students are in any problem with any teaching faculty he helps resolve the issues. And there is one more teacher named mister vedpal who teaches mathematics and he teaches in such a smooth way that now I fell in love with mathematics which I used to hate as a kid. And there are few rude teachers which may look down on you and sometimes insult you in front of the whole class . These are the teachers that have no boundaries and they won't change their behaviour which makes me loose interest in their subjects. But overall teaching faculty is very good and approachable .but they need to replace few teachers .There is a maximum of seven subjects and minimum of five subjects . Main subjects have a credit of 4 and additional subject have a credit of 2 and subjects with more credit are more difficult and those with lesser credit score are easier . There are four subjects with credit score 4 and rest of the subjects are with credit score of 2.Difficulty level is very low. Out of 10 students only 1 fails .and they fails only if they have 0 knowledge of subject otherwise these subjects are pretty easier to clear . The course curriculum is pretty relevant. As it includes all the necessary subjects as well as practical subjects .

Night Life

College have two hostels one for the girls and one for the boys and college hostel for the boys is outside the college premises and the college hostels for girls is inside the college premises . The hostel is not very big and the entry is restricted to very few students to the college going students only. Nearby the college there are many food chain such as Domino's ,burger King. And also near the college there are many local restaurant such as chaap corner, the tiffin, pure veg dhabha, the coffee corner, cornel icecream where we can sit and chill and eat good food. The hostel timings are restricted to 7:00 p.m. and you cannot go out after 7:00 p.m.. also inside the college premises we also have a gym in the basement and a cafeteria on the first floor and a library on the second floor. Over all the nightlife experience is very good and there are many places to roam around and even if you want to go to some other places you can go there easily as college is near all the good places.

Highest package of Hindu College is 36.5 LPA and the average package is 11.4 LPA. Hindu College has a high placement rate of 95% of eligible students securing a placement here. My plan is to prepare for UPSC or SSC-CGL after my degree.
