Course Curriculum Overview

3

i have chosen b.com hons because that was mainstream and i had commerce in my +2 .moreover the curriculum was interesting because of the introduction of new subjects like auditing and taxation, those were interesting and has prelevance and prepares you for real world situations .frequency of timings is twice in a year

Fees and Financial Aid

the year wise fee is around 1300 whixh is around 650 per semester and the exam fees is seperately charged which is around 1000-1500 depending on the semester. The monthly fees is very less and affordable because it is government affliated college , but it provides with top class teachers and educational environment. smart classrooms and good infrastructure is present. various scholarship schemes as implemented by the state government are available , like the students credit card.

Campus Life

5

annual fests that held are once a year the goenka college fest that is called the QUEST which is a exciting festival where concerts and different types of competetions take place with exciting prizes and experiences, different business model competitions and management excercise also take place culture events like the saraswati pujo is held in our college every year

Admission

i chose this college because it was reputed and was among the best in kolkata or bachelor of commerce and accountancy , moreover it provides great facility and eduaction in comparison to its price which is a plus point and key factor in influencing my decision

Faculty

4

the faculty to student ratio is 1: 100 teachers like sm ma'am and mnr sir have great knowledge which is reflected in their teaching, they help a lot with the last year project there is 2 exams in each semester , internal for 20 marks and external for 80 marks

Interview Experience

5

no there were no interview rounds for the admission nor there was any written test for the admission they select you on the basis of merit but the cutoff goes high, after securing 93.2 percent in my 10+2 i still had to wait for the 8th list to come out to get my name approved and my admission done .

Night Life

5

the college has a newly opened canteen of its own which is more of a cafeteria . the college also has the vidyasagar library which is one of the best in town , in walking distance you have college street famous for various books and also the university of calcutta which too has a library, after class hangout spots are at dharmatalla where students can go for shopping or maybe for watching a movie and having some fast foods

Placement Experience:

There is a placement cell club which functions in the college itself which is efficient in providing over 67 to 98% of students with placements. This percentage can vary for different years and different courses. The college has been successful in attracting top recruiters like deloitte, wipro, TCS, and leader companies from various other sectors. Packages vary significantly from 4 to 6 LPA up to 24LPA. After getting my degree i am planning to first make sure that i have completed my CA course that i am pursuing alongside. And then going ahead with either a job outside kolkata or open a business in kolkata itself.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum aligns well with the professional courses like CA and CMA. it has a lot of classes like value added course, modern indian language etc. which help us grow overall. The seminars are very helpful. We submit presentations on rela world topics which prepare us beyond the clasroom. It could be improved to reduce the excess theory portions. The frequency and timing is wonderful.

I always want to build my career in commerce and my aim is to be a chartered accountant. So I took this course because the syllabus of CA and B.com is the same. our college faculties are so helpful. They always come forward to resolve our academic and nonacademic doubts. Their teaching methods are also good. we don't need to purchase any book, their notes are enough for our syllabus.
