An honest review for NIT silchar with detail analysis.

The course curriculum is up to dated. But some of the subjects still need improvement like they still using the old syllabus and they need new improvement. They are providing the practical knowledge for each subject but some of the labs are not so well equipped and some need proper advancements. The gap between exams for midsem and endsem is 2-3 months as well as the labels of questions is pretty good. It covers all the topics of taught chapters in the class. Generally the levels of questions depends on the faculty as well as some of the teachers set easy papers while some quite opposite. Teaching methods of teachers are good. As they cover each student and provides the notes

Different companies visit after 5th semester for internship opportunities. Many big tech companies like Saplabs, accenture, dutchbank, etc offers a pretty handsome sallary. Many companies also provides ppo offer based on the company requirements and students performance. Many students go for research in different colleges. Many faculties also provides different projects for experiences.

Placement of NIT silchar is pretty good. Average package is around 12 Lpa. Although after corona the placement dropped but still it is good. Many big tech companies visit during placement for full time and internship. Core companies also visits for different roles. During our placement season it happens generally after 7th semester. Generally criteria for sitting in any company varies based on cgpa and sometimes 10th and 12th marks depends on company to company generally it is 6 or 7 or 8 cgpa. Good it companies offer 20-30lpa and lowest offer was 6th lpa.

The yearwise fees for income less than 1 lakh student is 25000 per year. The fee structure for different categories are : Admission fee - 1000 Library fee - 500 Examination fee - 1200 Sports fee - 1500 Transport fee - 500 Light and water charge - 1000 Mess establishment - 1500 There are different structures for the scholarship students like NSP, ONGC scholarship program etc.

My overall experience of campus life is the best. Because I was involved in various clubs and societies with different positions. I was also active in different fests. In my college there is two kinda fests one is tecnoesis which is the best tech fest in overall northeast. Another is incandescent which is one of the best cultural fest in northeast where different kinda events occurs. Different artists come in these fest. There are also different sports events occurs like inter hostel intra hostel, internit.

Hostel facilities are still need improvement but still it provides a lot basic facilities like food, electricity, filter water, bathrooms, grounds inside hostels, good beds etc. Food quality is good. There are different food offered in different days with a grand food on last Sunday. Hostel is allotted after we complete our even semester. Based on our cgpa hostel rooms are alloted. If someone is nearby college they can skip hostels or if they want to rent rooms there are different hostels and lodges, hotels nearby college.

After jossa I applied in different nits as per my rank I got electrical Engineering department. NIT Silchar is one of the prestigious nits. As per nirf ranking it comes under 7th ranking. It has one of the top digital library where there are different books available. According to campus beauty it is the best beautiful campus. It has 18 lakes and a tea garden as well. My college provides btech mtech courses and mba courses. Courses are assigned on the basis of jee ranks and through different counselling.

The faculty to students ratio is quite balanced and the classrooms are generally big and fully equipped. Some of the faculties are very good as they mostly focus on students development with proper practical knowledge. Examination is conducted in two stages : Midsem and Endsem.Midsem consists of 30 marks with 20 marks for internal tests which includes minor as well as attendance and assignment. Endsem consists of 50 marks with subjective questions.

Haha talking about nightlife it's the best for me. Different night canteens are their for night cravings which have maggie tea coffee etc. There is a gym in my college with different kinda equipments. There is no trainer as such in gym but our seniors and some batchmates help in exercising. For boys hostels there is no any strict intime as such but for girls it is 9:30 pm. Famous hangout places are gymkhana park, cricket ground, football ground, walking roads, tea garden
