Course Curriculum Overview

4

The B.COM course curriculum is highly relevant and comprehensive, covering essential topics in accounting, finance, economics, and management. Its practical approach and industry-aligned structure were key factors in my decision to choose this course, as it provides a solid foundation for both real-world applications and further studies. However One drawback is that subject like SEC i.e Skill enhancement courses are offered which is of no use because no one teaches actual skills it's just read and give exam. Its burden on us. But still I'll say our course curriculum is still not as advanced as it requires in industry.

Internships Opportunities

5

The college organizes an annual internship fiesta, attracting around 100 reputed companies offering a wide range of roles. These include positions in finance, marketing, HR, operations, and data analysis, among others. The highest stipend offered during the fiesta was ?25,000, while the average stipend was around ?10,000. Students work on diverse projects such as market research, financial modeling, and business development, gaining practical experience and valuable industry exposure. These internships provide excellent opportunities for skill development and networking, preparing students for future career prospects. Companies like Crowe, Zomato, Chaayos, Boat and other companies offered internship opportunities.

Placement Experience

4

Campus placement scenario is very good here and students from 4th semester are eligible for campus placements. This year placement season is still going on and still companies are coming like BIG4s and other accounting and finance firms, however as per previous year data highest package was offered by DE Shaw which was 37 Lpa and average package was 5.5 Lpa. Profiles offered were Sales and Marketing, Consulting, Research, Finance, Audit Analyst, Actuarial Analyst. Companies like Deloitte, Pwc, Ey, Crowe LLP, Zomato, Bain, BCG, KPMG and 30+ companies visited here. Around 60-70% students get placed here.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of our college is comparatively high than other DU colleges, it's around 32k/year but this fees is worthy because infrastructure is well maintained, classes are way cleaned and equipped with ACs. Every year fees is increased by 500-1000 rupees. There are No OBC,SC,ST candidates except general and sikh minority students so the fees is same for every student. Scholarships are available for sikh minority students and top academic performers only.

Campus Life

3

Life on campus is vibrant and enriching, offering a perfect blend of academics and extracurricular activities. The college hosts various student-run societies, such as Enactus, the Finance and Investment Cell, Urja (Commerce Cell), Modulus (Mathematics Society), and many more. These societies provide excellent exposure and opportunities to enhance skills beyond academics. The annual college fest, held between February and March, is a highlight of the year, though it is relatively modest compared to some larger institutions. The library is spacious and well-stocked with all the necessary books and journals to support academic pursuits. Classrooms are modern, equipped with air conditioning and digital boards, creating a comfortable learning environment. The campus also promotes sports and physical activities with facilities for basketball, football, cricket, volleyball, and badminton. Additionally, events like the sports fest "Sportify" add to the excitement. Overall, campus life is engaging, offering ample opportunities for personal growth and interaction through its infrastructure, activities, and community initiatives.

Admission

The admission process was through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). There were no Group Discussions (GD), Personal Interviews (PI), or written tests as part of the admission process. The competition for admission was intense, with a high cut-off in the range of 690-700 out of 800 marks, which made it quite challenging to secure a seat. To prepare for this exam I didn't purchased any course because ample amount of content is available free of cost on YouTube channels. I didn't got rejection from any college because I only applied for DU and was sure enough to get in, But I can assure that this college is far better than other north campus colleges in terms of academics, discipline, and placements.

Faculty

5

The faculty in our college is well-qualified and approachable, maintaining a good balance in the faculty-to-student ratio. They are supportive and clear in their teaching, making it easier for students to understand concepts. The course structure is practical and industry-relevant, with a mix of theory and application. Exams are held two to three times per semester, including internals and end-terms, and are moderately challenging. Most students manage to pass with consistent preparation. The overall setup is straightforward and effective, with both faculty and curriculum focused on helping students achieve good results.

Night Life

4

As a day scholar, I don't have much idea about the nightlife of our college, however like I have been to nights for quite a few times and I must say college looks so mesmerizing in Night with Holy Gurudwara In late nights with glowing lights. Hostel is only for girls and is very strict in timings. Gates are closed after 8PM. Gym is one of my favourite place which charges only 500/month which is very nominal with Advanced gym equipment separate for both boys and girls. We have a CCD and we enjoy our hot brewd coffee there. We have beggars and richers point with lush green gardens where we spend our time most of the time pre exams and post exams and it's peaceful and serene and outside the college we only have NSP pacific mall as our most favourite hangout place and apart from these nothing else. We mostly spend our time in societal works, in canteen having hot samosas.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculam is well-structured and covers all the core subject relevant to the field . It help in building strong theroritcial knowledge but lacks enough real-world case studies and industry exposure . Exam are conducted regularly and are of moderate difficulty . Adding more project-based or skill oriented components would make the course more practical and beneficial for placements or higher studies .

When students enter 3rd year of their college , they are eligible to sit for placements but should have minimum 8 CGPA .A lot of companiess visit campus , details of companies are on the website of college. The highest placement till now is 20 Lakhs per Annum and average goes around 6-7 Lakhs per Annum. A decent percentage of students get placed. Honestly most students here are pursuing professional courses so they don't sit for placements instead continue with their courses .
