Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course is relevant in current senario as it helps to develop analytical and critical thinking skills. It also prepares you to prove or disprove which would work if u wish to be an economist. It is also beneficial if you wish to go in government sectors many alumni are in government sector

Placement Experience

5

Almost everyone gets placed.placements are taken very seriously not only by students but also faculty of the college. Delloite , KPMG, Bain and Amex are some of the common recruiting companies. Average ctc provided is around 12 lac per annum which could go over 30 lac per annum

Fees and Financial Aid

It is two year course annually 11751 placement regisration 2000 and Ratan tata library membership- 1000 Some scholarships available are Dr manmohan singh fellowship which include 10,000 per month+book grant(2 years), Exim Bank Scholarship 5000 per month for 1 year. There are couple of scholarships for people whose parent donot pay income tax such as A.N. Ram Scholarship and for females like Arjun and jayshree sengupta scholarship

Campus Life

4

The first year is hectic so almost every student could be found near JP stall or library which are beside each other. People would stay even hrs after the lectures are over. The only official society is the placement cell hence there are no fests or any society as such for extra curricular activities. The library is huge and well conditioned. It contains almost all resources and desktops as well. There is a computer lab inside economics block as well which is generally occupied

Admission

Dse is more mathematical than courses provided in GIPE JNU etc . Its teacher student ratio is very low particularly due to large intake of students which is a significant con given other college where students are generally 40-50 max. Dse also offers both placement and study abroad. Recently a student got into havard. Although ISI delhi is at par interms of providing study opportunities abroad

Faculty

5

The faculty is world class everyone is an expert in their domains most of them are dse grads themselves. Many of them have phds from Yale, Boston, MIT, IITetc. The faculty student ratio is low but the teachers are approachable and you could visit them or email them they would revert back and even call you if they feel you are lacking some where. There are mid terms and then sem exams which are hard so one should study from day 1 itself

Night Life

4

Kamala nagar is just near d school people generally go and hangout over there in between classes or other stalls around north campus such as uncle tom etc. After classes one could generally go to hudson which has lot of cafes and restaurants. People generally go to library and stay till 6-8 pm and then could eat in vijay nagar or hudson

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have always held that the training I recieved during my masters programme prepared the grounds for my future development. The teaching pedagogy was centres around participation and a two way dialogue. I am not in the capacity to be suggesting improvements in curriculum as my stint in the university was almost perfect- more than I could have ever asked for.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well designed by the renowned professors and faculty members from different universities in India and from abroad as well. The content was choosen keeping in mind to cover all the aspects of the specific subject for a pg student. As I mentioned before, the quality of study material was very good and helpful and very enough. But the pg thesis is missing from our course, due to which we were not able to do a research project. It appears to me after the completion of my first year that we can do our research under our given faculty but it wasn't mentioned in the course structure as it is mainly upto our faculties.

In IGNOU, you can study from anywhere because the courses are offered in distance and online mode. You don’t have to attend regular college; you can study at home using the books, PDFs, and online lectures. IGNOU also provides online teachers through live classes, recorded videos, and doubt-clearing sessions on their online platforms. This makes it easy for students to learn even if they are working or living in another city.

Course Curriculum Overview:

For the course i must say that this is something everyone needs to study about even if it's for just a part. We have ethics, moral, cultural relativism and etc. In our syllabus and it all really help to make our thinking rational, to see World from that point of view from where one can see the clarity. It's really necessary for improvement in personality and making good decision. I think there's need for making this course more practical like teaching, we can teach students about essentials of philosophy for there betterment of decision making from an early age.
