Course Curriculum Overview
I decided to choose B.com Honours because I was from Commerce Stream. It focuses on specialization in the 3rd year. Curriculum prepares for real life application like accounting, business law etc. Area of Improvement is they should not fully focus on old teaching methods and theory part only but also for the practical part. Internals assessment occurs in 1-2 times per semester and the difficulty level is moderate.
Internships Opportunities
Companies includes Big 4(KPMG, Deloitte, PwC and Ernst & Young) and Wipro offers internship. It gives nice stipend around 5000 to 20000. Highest stipend of the college was 80000 And the highest package was 23 Lakh per annum. There are some societies like Placement cell to boost your career growth.
Placement Experience
After the 5th semester students become eligible. Companies visited are - Amazon, KPMG, Deloitte, PwC, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Flipkart, Ernst & Young and many more. Highest Package - 23 LPA Average Package - 6 LPA Percentage of students getting placed is 80% I want to get placement after Degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
The Year-wise for B.com Honours is Rs15130 yearly and it is a 3 years course which makes a total of 45390 after 3 years. Currently I am in the first year as per 2024 and i have paid Rs15130 till now The program fees is Rs15130 and the registration fees was Rs250 and the exam fees for every semester varies as per the subjects selected by the sudents which includes 3 compulsory subjects and optional VAC, SEC, AEC and GE. The fees for my friends is the same as me. I am telling about my friends of the same course. For the scholarship the college has planned to provide some partial support grants to DU students from weaker sections of society, such as EWS, who are differently abled and displaced. This is one-time support ranging from Rs 35,000 to 40,000. They must fulfill that: They have not received any scholarship of any nature before. They have excelled in the academic performance in their previous year( both semesters included)
Campus Life
Diwali fests occurs few days before Diwali it occurs in month of October or November. Library has a large variety of books over 1 lakhs books are there. Faculties are good but the computer labs are not nice because of the old system. The college is good in sports, in fact we have the best Cricket team in the whole DU. Many societies are there like Placement Cell, Enactus etc.
Admission
I applied for all the North and South campus colleges and according to my Cuet Score I got Pgdav college. I choose it over other colleges because of location preference. I didn't make in other colleges because the cutoff was too high. The admission process is simple and the eligibility criteria is at least 50% in 10+2 exams and the exam accepted is CUET.
Faculty
The faculties to students relationship is good during the class. The faculties are available except few members. For Bcom honours The faculties I liked was Dr.Megha Aggarwal Ma'am for Business Law because of her easy explanation and pleasant behaviour. All faculties are good by the way I like all of them. There are Few Internal Assessments and a Main Exam of 90 Marks. The total Marks for each subject is 160. The Exams are of Moderate Level. Around 20-30% students fail each year in some subjects. The Course curriculum is nice.
Night Life
There are Gyms in Nehru Nagar and Lajpat Nagar. There is no Hostel in our PGDAV college and campus life is peaceful. Lajpat Nagar Market and Mall. The Locality is safe to roam at night but you should be careful.
