Discipline of this campus is pointable and praisable
Alumni network is very good and well connection with alumni.
Very large workshop for marine engineering .every types of machine and instruments are available there.

Dislikes

Infrastructure of this campus is not so good.
Hostel and fooding facility you consider average .

Course Curriculum Overview

You can consider this college for good knowledge and good practical experience for shipping career.Every end semester exams are conducted timely after academic year 2023-24.As there is 11-13 subject for every semester including Theory + practical Exam period is approx 1month.

Class Size: 240Course Fees: INR 1100000 per year

Internships Opportunities

There are so many internship programme offered by college during semester break .these internship are completed on diiferent port in india to familiar cadets all about engine room before joining onboard ship.some cadet are sent to INS Shivagi for their internship.

if we talk about placement cadet of this campus is elligible for sit in placement from 3rd semester.there are so many reputed company for the come for placement like Chevron, WSM, Fleet management, NYK Line, TORM tanker, Pacific Basin, Dynagas, SHELL, Scorpio tanker, MSC, MOL,Goodwood ship management ,Maersk,Etc

Fees and Financial Aid

Annual Fee is 275000 including all charges Like Hostel,Mess,programe fee,couse fee,etc.There is no any catagories wise fee structure for every catagory was same.There are so many scholarship provided for this course by state government .

Campus Life

As life is very good but discipline is very important to survive in this campus .overall very good campus life with there are so many sport which can be played in the campus like football, hockey, Basketball, volleyball, Cricket, Kabbadi, Batminton etc

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilty is average year wise divided the accomodation for staying in the hostel .like in 1st year 6 cadets are accomodated in one large size room in second year 2 cadet are accomodated in one room in 3rd year 3 cadet accomodated in one room and for 4th year cadet personal rooms are alloted

Hostel Fee: INR 40000 per year

Admission

As compare to other colleges we choose this college because the workshop is well equipped,placement condition is very good as compare to other institution and Alumni connection is very good with this college .this is oldest college for marine engineering so it is also known as excellence of marine engineering.

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio of IMU Kolkata campus is 1/6.Specially faculty for marine related subject is experienced with higher shipping industries knowledge and connections.semester exam is not soo tough it lies between moderate to high level.

Night Life

As we take about gym ,cafetarias and library there is a seperate year wise gym for cadet and cafetarias for cadet living inside campus which is directly own IRCTC and another canteen for faculty mameber.Library is also well maintained approx 5000 books are there in the library.

GOOD College at low fees.

Placement Experience:

Placement of my college are quite good with a avg package of 6 to 7 lpa and higest package of 45 lpa and this year the higest package is 75 lpa. The companies visited in my college are infosys, Capgemini,tcs,wipro, Mindtree,IBM, sometimes amazon also.The placement rate of the college is 85 to 95%.

Good for placements, excellent hostel life and good to learn, apply and fun. A college for all round development.

I have searched for many other colleges but i chose this because it is the oldest marine engineering college and has a benchmark legacy, and this college has shaped the merchant navy of the nation. It has been known for producing the finest marine engineers. I preffered marine engineering over other courses because this is a type of training that ensures your wholesome development.
