Course Curriculum Overview

4

Curriculum is well designed with three main course subject that we call DSE and one elective that is going to give us minor degree and SEC and Vac and AEC , but what I find negatively about sec and vac opting is that we aren't allowed to opt for subject or course we want to study in sec and vac and rather given what they provide.

Internships Opportunities

4

We have internship opportunities available and placement cell is there called Horizon you can join that and work with them ...Regarding placement my field doesn't have placement mostly commerce students gets that and it's nit to great and not too bad like delloite and all do visit our campus..

Fees and Financial Aid

I gave CUET exam in 2023 with subjects preference of PCB and english and via SC category I got into Maitreyi college in Botany and its a 4 year degree and can be left in between if you want to. The college fees in first year was around 14k and in second year it was 16k its a decent fee looking that its a governor college and has a good reputation among DU college. The seats in my class is around 40 to 50 depends even upon the available and no.of students applying.

Campus Life

4

We have tons of societies over here from dance to entrepreneur to social service like NSS ,NCC and we do have many societies for ethnic based like north east societies etc, I have personally joined Meraki a entrepreneur cell its amazing we get to work and reach people out and learn a lot how buisness runs we do get opportunities to set up our own businesses or startups and see how things are done and where we lack.our college have a annual fest called Rhapsody which is famous in South campus and it's organised so well.

Admission

I was opting for south colleges like kristu and all but due to the curriculum and admission timings I couldn't get into those , I wanted to study something thay had close link with medical , after giving CUET I was given a college under DU Kalindi but I upgraded that and got Maitreyi which I consider a good decision.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is good like one teacher assigned 30 to 35 students at a time which makes class interactive and no one is left behind .As I have minor in zoology i find the teachers a lot more interactive and good at explaining but when I opted for sec and vac in physics they made it little difficult for things to be understood by a student.Exams are okay..practicals are conducted without any malpractices and teachers do help with study materials at that time...what I don't like is my course and some scientific course don't have study material designed for each sem so we always have to wander and download multiple pdfs to study a single chapter which is kind of frustrating as what should we study and what is not need to be studied at that time.

Night Life

4

Nearedt place to college where I stayed is Satyaniketan its a good place and you will find people there tilk 10 or 11pm hanging out with friends and having foods or snack, over all its safe when you go out together , I never found myseld unsafe over there as a girl but we as girls have to be alert everytime .

I will rate 10 out of 7 to this course curriculum because in this course the experiment and lab works is too low as compare to another courses like biomedical science, bsc zoology and many more. But it's ok I'm happy with this course.

Students become eligible for placements on the 3rd year, we have decent placement opportunities but not the best, highest package is around 15 lakhs. Companies that visit are Bain and Co., Urban Clap etc. average package is around 5 lakhs. My plans after getting the degree are getting into a master's programme and pursuing research.
