Maitreyi College: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 4 Reviews

Admission to this well-ranked girls' college is based on the DU website cutoff, requiring applicants to be within the merit list. The process involves visiting the college for form submission, document verification, and fee payment. The college location is convenient for parental visits. With a favorable faculty-to-student ratio of 1:30 to 1:35, the experienced faculty ensures interactive classes. Zoology instructors are notably interactive and clear, though some courses, like physics, may be challenging.

Exams are fair, and practicals ethical, but students may need to seek additional study materials for some courses. The program fee is about INR 8,500, with annual exam fees and a library card fee, though fee transparency could improve. From the sixth semester, students start receiving job offers, with packages starting at INR 5,00,000. Placement opportunities mainly benefit commerce students, with companies like Deloitte visiting the campus, facilitated by the college's placement cell, Horizon.

The college hosts international seminars, enhancing academic exposure. The fee structure varies from INR 5,000 to 8,000 yearly, with first-year fees approximately INR 14,000 and second-year fees around INR 16,000. While scholarships and loans are available, specific details are unspecified. Recognized among DU colleges, the Botany program spans four years, with a flexible exit option, admitting students via the 2023 CUET exam under the SC category. Class sizes range from 40 to 50 students, depending on application volume and availability.
