What Students Say
Likes
- One of the things that I liked was the faculty. Faculty at AUD is amazing though many have left owing to the administration.
- The course structure and the readings incorporated especially for Arts subjects are incredible.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure of the place is falling apart.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is fantastic. Relevant, you would read books and readings from outside of the canon as well. Plus at AUD you get immense choice in the course you want to opt for within your programme.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is around 30,000 per semester. For students availing reservation the fees is 500 rupees per semester, so it's a good option for reservation availing students especially. Fees is not increasing as for now. There is a provision for semester wise scholarship. From every class the toppers from the class get some money depending on the department you're from. It can be 4,000, 5,000 and so on.
Campus Life
My experience has been a ride. In recent years it has become quite political which does influence you as a student a lot. The societies are active in their own little spheres. There's theatre society, music society, photography society and a queer collective as well among others.
Admission
Admission process at AUD is quite simple, much like DU. They used to have interviews, but now they don't for majority courses. I went to AUD for their curriculum. In comparison to DU, it's much liberal. Also you do get a lot of flexibility in choosing your courses. The assessments are not just exams like it is the case in DU.
Faculty
Faculty at AUD is the only thing keeping it alive. They're friendly and would help you with whatever you need. There was an immense shortage of faculty till recent times but the situation is better now.
