Course Curriculum Overview

4

In context to the relevant it is highly recommended as being a student of history hons. it is very important for us to know the present past and the recent future and this course teaches us this all that with special reference to the great authors and writers. And it is very relevant in the sense of history literature. It is very comprehensive as there are many levels of terminologies and additional subjects in this course which provide us deep intrest and knowledge throughout the history. Also the frequency of exams is also not very cooperative woth the schedule of the students as the exams are held too longing string over a month as it is very time consuming but they are not that much difficult.

Placement Experience

3

Though there are placement schemes for the IT sector courses but for my course that is history hons. the placement are generally are in the form of internships and after the degree the research section is held and after that we can get a job in archeology department after passing few tests , we can get assistant professor tests . Placement cells generally vists the college campus frequently in the year and there medium to high coverage of packages which are setttled from our college.

Fees and Financial Aid

The enterece was through the CUET and for its registeration, a fee of 1500 approx , according to the category { general and sc , st } rest the college fee according to the particular courses , for history honours it was 24 thousand including all the library as well as other course fee. Rest , there wasn't any extra fee till one semester the fee structure goes semester wise. Apart from internships under the professors there isn't any specific scholarship for the students .In my opinion the fee structure is adjusted according to the courses and increments in those fee structures are rarely made as this being a government based college , fee structures are mostly generalized.

Campus Life

3

I have had a very good experience in this college. Many fests take place and mostly start from the month of February. And in the library you will get maximum number of books related to our courses and other books also. The college is also good in the field of sports and extra curriculum activities. And societies which run bu students are also very good and cooperative. They helps students in field of singing, dancing, acting etc.

Admission

I got admission in this college from CUET exam. I have selected many colleges of delhi university in cuet and according to my marks in cuet i got this college. All of the colleges under delhi university are very good but they are also very different from each other in terms of infrastructure, teaching staff, societies and many other things. Admission process is through the cuet exam, and minimum 500+ marks out of 800 are required tp get admission in this college.

Faculty

5

All the staff members including the professors, office staff, every one is very cooperative. And the administration staff is very nice and cooperative. They helps students alot. That's why i also like it as they have helped me many time also.. And if we talk about the exams.. Exams held after every three months and marking scheme is based on courses respectively the main courses contains more marks and others like SEC VAC AEC contains less marks. They are not very tough. And 99% of the students clear exams easily..

Night Life

3

As this college is under delhi university and delhi university is in delhi which is not safe for anyone specially in nights.. But area around the college campus i quit peaceful and good like students can roam around at night safely. But tbh there are no any famous hangout place near this college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

British classics, Indian writing, postcolonial literature builds a strong foundation in literary analysis, critical thinking, and interpretation, which are useful skills. As for comprehensiveness, the curriculum is quite broad. It covers multiple literary periods, genres, and critical theories over the three years, so you’re not really missing out on the essentials. In that sense, it feels academically complete. But sometimes, it leans more towards breadth over depth you move quickly from one topic to another.

There's a placement cell and placement drives do happen in college but genuinely the package offered is not really considerable. After the 4th semester students are considered to sit in the placement drives though I would say it is not very efficient and fruitful.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The curriculum was overall good and being a economics honours courses it was challenging at times. The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

The reason why I choose this subject because I like history and want to know more about it . History have the best opportunities to pursue the UPSC , Anthropology, archeology and we can learn more about historical researches . The faculty im the department of history is updated and well versed in the field of history and have adopted student friendly teaching methods which make me suggest this subject in JMC to the students who likes to pursue higher studies in history. The exams are conducted at the end of every semester with moderate difficulty level .
