Course Curriculum Overview

4

Anthropology is best for the students who wants to opt science but also wants to explore arts subject . It is a bridge between science and arts. Anthropology is a field science and we are given several fieldwork during our course which provides us with real knowledge of the course.

Internships Opportunities

3

There is internship cell which provides us the internship opportunity. Most of the internship are work from office only but some are work from home also. Usually they are unpaid and we just get experience and help boost our cvs and some are paid also which are Usually 5k-10k p.m

Placement Experience

3

There are placement cell in hansraj college which provides the placement for the various courses which are majority bcom hons , ba economics hons and bsc computer science hons and the rest are have a general placement opportunity. The companies which come in college for placement usually come for these courses only. Rest courses usually goes for higher education or upsc or other government exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

My annual college fees was around 27600 something in my 1st and it got increased to 29800 in 2nd year . Along this we also have examination fees for each semester which is usually around 2000 but it varies according to our optional subjects like Vac,Sec,Aec ,Ge etc this includes all the practical charges and marksheet charges . The fees have all the other charges included.

Campus Life

5

The overall experience of the college is great , it really provides us the exposure that students want and they think they will get in north campus. The infrastructure is great , library is the best in delhi university. College canteen is also great and have good quality of food specially dosa which is my favorite. The 75+ societies in our college which are very famous like oorja , pixel, dramsoc, nss ,ncc ,udaan , nishtha , haritima etc. Students really enjoy these societies and they also get to learn a lot .

Admission

To get admission in hansraj college you have to give the cuet exam with the subjects physics , chemistry and biology/biological subjects . I have chosen this college as the course which i wanted was offered by only 1 college itself. Hansraj college have the best infrastructure as compared with other college of north campus and hansraj college as acs also which i don't think is present in other or if present does not work . We have like 5 5 acs in each room .

Faculty

4

So my course is anthropology whose classes happens in department of anthropology which is in university campus ouside of Hansraj College. In department the faculty to students ratio is 1:10 which is good but in college its a little less which is i think around 7% . Our core subjects faculty are very experienced , like one of the best in india for anthropology ,they have many phds in same domains, there are some particular faculty that have been an international faculty also , that's really great . In my course there is 3 main subject which is social anthropology, biological anthropology and archeological anthropology which each carries 4 credits and are of 160 marks . And then there are 4 optional subjects which are Vac , Sec , Aec And ge . VAC , SEC AEC HAVE 2 credits each and are of 80 marks. GE IS of 4 credits and is of 160 marks.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is too good. As my course is life sciences so instead of learning about only one core subject like in botany hons and zoology hons course, we get chance to learn about zoology, botany and chemistry simultaneously. That Also unlock a large no. of opportunities for my future. Acc to me the ratio of practical lab and theory classes should be increased like we only get 1 lab for one core subjects in a week so I think this no. Should be increased so that we can get more practical knowledge. The difficulty level of exams are too much High like it seems we're hons course students that should be decreased.

Campus placements are for commerce background mostly, usually in 3rd year you might see some placements. I don't know exactly about thr company who visited because I wasn't enrolled in that particular course. Campus placements percentage is very low to be honest . 10-20% mostly. I'll pursue masters.
