What Students Say

Likes

Hostel life:There is no restriction on when to enter campus and when to leave.Rarely there is room checking and wifi works good.Washing Machines etc are provided.
Professors: Very helpful professors and always ready to solve doubt.
Labs: Highly professional lab.There wont be any problem about equipments broken or any facilities not provided

Dislikes

Schedule: Class schedule is very tight.Sometime u can have classes from 8 in morning to 6:30 in evening with just only 1hr break in between for lunch.
Wifi issues: There is a limit over wifi(10gb per day).After repeated warning they may shut down wifi services for u and u have to go and file the issue.

Course Curriculum Overview

I personally like the course curriculum as it is outdated. Labs are doing old experiments but if u want to grow u will never find problem as professors are very helpful and will give u full support in research. They can bring new curriculum and I personally find a lot of space to grow. Major and Minor exam times are very stressful as there are continuous paper(1 in each day).Sometime there can be 2 or at max 3 majors on same day which can be stressful.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 1200000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Around 300-400 companies visit for internship and u can land a good internship if u have good grip in DSA or in ur core branch.A good CGPA is must and if all that coditions are met u will land a decent internship!

Placement Experience

I heard there are good placements but u need to study hard to land a good internship and placement.More than 500 companies visit our campus.Highest package is around 4cr given by Jane Street.70% people usually get placed.I plan to get an SDE role and plan on doing developments

Fees and Financial Aid

I am paying 3,00,000 per year as my college fees.Although there is rebate if you annual income is below a certain threshold or you are Sc/St. As for semester breakdown 1,00,000 tuition fees 30,000 admission fees 20,000 development fees Tution fees is 100% rebated for SC/ST.Also if ur annual income is lesser than 1 lpa then its 66% rebate on tuition fees

Campus Life

Camous life is best part of IIT Delhi.You can literally grow in any aspect (Any means any) whether its sports, aeromodelling, management.There are many clubs of dance music.Seniors and Dyro are very friendly and u can acheive anything in this aspect.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facility is kinda good.I mean u get washing machines.Although there is no Ac.U can buy your own heaters and coolers.Room are pretty spacious in my hostel.Mess meals are OK but definitely better than other college mess.Surely u will have a great time in hostel life

Admission

Applied for IIT Bombay but didnt got my preferred branch.Although getting admision in other college was fairly easy due to good rank in JEE Advance,U need to get a good rank in JEE Advance to get in this prestigious college.Admisssion process is very simple and u will be notifed through mails constantly

Faculty

Faculty ratio is 1:40. Professors are very helping and always ready to solve your doubt and help students to research. As for exams there are minors and majors.Prof may also add quizzes,assignment or vivas or ppts. Exam are fairly difficult and u need to study hard to score 8 pointer.7 is pretty doable. 10-20% fails and apply for remajor.

Placement Experience:

The placement was not too good it was bad the main reason was like it have not in better place if student want to grab an offer he do offcampus apply so they get job .The companies visted our collage was tcs ,infosys , wipro and sometime Amazon. The highest pacakge was offers in 2020 for almost like 30LPA after that non of them get that much placement .In simple wprd you are the reason of your too get placed in companies . In our collage not fang companies offerd placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good especially during recession. You're eligible for placements after 3rd year. After 2nd Year you're eligible for Internships. All Big Companies like Google Microsoft Apple Goldmansachs Mckinsey etc. Highest package offered till now in 2025 is 85LPA (Atlassian) Average of CSE is 17 -18 lpa . almost 53% people get placed in 2025 (recession time). See The degree OF DTU has its value. So it gives you an edge while you go for off campus.

Placement Experience:

The placement rate here is around 70-75% on an avg in all branches and sometimes even higher. After 1st year only , multiple opportunities starts coming . After 1st year and before 2nd year , basically in summer vacation we have to do a compulsory internship (college also provides) and we are provided a credit for that . Then multiple opportunities like GOOGLE STEP ,amacon internship , etc come.

Placement Experience:

From 6 semester all students are eligible for campus placements there are almost more than 30+ companies come to make offers and don't recall the names but almost 34 lakh per annum is the highest package they offer and some lucky students also get 80 lakh per annum package almost 80 percent students get placed.

In each sem we have to give exams twice - mid terms and end terms. They are not much difficult the level is moderate. Teaching method is also good bit sometimes they are not able to complete the syllabus

The corses are well designed And related to your curiculum evey course are relevent for student the course they provied in first sem are Math,computational thinking,Intoduction to south asia,ENG,Phy. most of collages have mechanical in their first sem where they have to do weilding ,crafting etc which have no use in course of CS.

IITD is an old IIT and has an entrepreneurial atmosphere making it my first choice.I applied for the some other colleges I am comparing with ahead. Fulfilling experience at IITD.

Bachelors is required with 55% atleast. JAM score is required. Cut off for obc was 33 as far as I remember . The entrance test tests your quantitative and qualitative ability. All the details are given on the website of iit delhi or just typing JAM would do. JAM gives you the opportunity to do your msc economics from iits. Admission to IITD occurs through JEE Advanced; In which an individual had to first clear JEE Mains then ADV. They have to prepare for three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics; concepts must be clear from the base level. As soon as the application form will be released; news will come in newspapers since it's a national-level exam or you can search on the Official Jee mains website. Application fees for Jee Mains in 2022: 650/- and for Jee ADV: 2800/-(not sure). Application dates will be released on the official website. To avail of reservation benefits you must have a category certificate that had been renewed within 6 months from counseling (FOR OBC-NCL). If from SC-ST, then can use any certificate.
