Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choose this course based on my jee advance result It is not that I chose this course based on the curriculum actually I was opting for IIT Delhi and based on my rank I got mechanical engineering to pursue here and I do not think any aspect of the curriculum influenced me to choose this course because I Was unaware of the syllabus also while choosing the course. Talking about the real world application of my academy courses I think The courses are very relevant and are up to industry standards. In my view the areas for improvement are there in teaching methods as some professor lack the ability of teaching of course they have huge knowledge but their explanation technique is poor we find better explanation on youtube on some popular iit level channels such as nptel and we read from there only some professors are good at teaching style and do we can easily understand things from their slides talking about the course curriculum I do not have much idea about the improvement in the curriculum but as much as I Know and understand they are relevant The frequency of exam is good there are minor papers quizzes and major papers and they are on a good interval throughout the semester and that forces us to study for the exams talking about the difficulty part the difficulty part is good as we are in iit and it must be so that we can excel in whatever engineering field we go.

Internships Opportunities

5

Currently I'm in my second year so I haven't done any internship yet but talking about the internships people go for it after the second year and that is during the sem break. The students get internship in big companies and in diverse roles where they lay the foundation for their placement many of them get preplacement offer based on their intensive role. Let me tell you about some of the companies I have heard from my seniors in which some of them have done the internship and some of them want to do are Microsoft, jp Morgan, itc Max Planck Institute for software systems, mastercard, Mitacs, finn Mechanics adobe worldquant. Let us talk about the roles they are offered and they go for in the internship many of them are research internship for the they student explore And see whether they will survive in the corporate world or not some the roles are financial consulting, quantitative analysis, research in internship, finance internship To get a good internship the student need to miake Sure That that they have a good cgpa. a cgpa More than 8 is highly appreciated and recognized in such kind of offer. Talking about it Delhi a cgpa More than 7 is also considered to be of appreciable the curriculum here in IT Delhi is very difficult and hectic than other iit. So to get an intensive first choose the field in which you want to go for the internship and and upskill yourself in that segment. It's better to do a research project before having an company internship because having a research project helps in getting the internship in big company. Having an experience always helps and for the companies to have their employees I could experience as a great thing In our college a lot of students do internship in different and varied field And in diverse roles

Placement Experience

5

During the 7th semester the placement season starts there is a starting of and shortlisting of students based on cg and they are shortlisted for the placement test for the various companies and those who qualify it they can sit in the interview and 4 day placement offering continues and this year this append in the beginning of December. Talking about the placement of year 2025 the data is still not available and I think it will be in the market soon but the students have grabbed a huge placement and there is a an incremental placement from the last 34 years which was due to recession many students have grabbed international packages and a huge national packages as well huge strength support placed. Talking about the placement of 2024 the sum of the top recruiters where Air India Microsoft texas instruments Goldman Sachs. Bajaj Auto. Etcetera,. Hyatt Delhi highest international package was true. crore per annum Indian rupee. and high estimate domestic package was 1,00,00,000 per annum in length rupee. around 50 students got a salary package of more than 1,00,00,000 per annum. and the top recruiting sectors Students got in where software finance code engineering technology and Analytics about 400 companies participated in iit Dilli placements. Talking about the 2025. placement is still not concluded. In 2024 amount 370 companies. have participated in the placement. and about 2 000 students registered for the placement. and half of them got placed. including the phase one and phase two. A total offer of 1050 was made. There were 50 plus international offers. and job profile offered was around 700. highest CTC. watched two lack per annum Indian rupee. In 2025 around. 70% student got placed. I am thinking. to go for UPSC. after my degree. Although I haven't made my mind completely about it. but may be I may opt for civil services. Otherwise I will go for core engineering in my mechanical. and I will. do something new over there. Let us see and hope for the best

Campus Life

there are many festivals held in iit delhi their names are following : speranza, rendezuvous, tryst, kaizen and many more. Talking about tryst festival It is a technical fest of iit Delhi currently in this year it was held in the month of september And the biggest achievement in the first was the Chief guest Microsoft founder Bill Gates he inaugurated the fest. Talking about the rendezuvous Which is Abbreviated as RDV, It is a cultural festivite iit Delhi and it is the ASIA largest cultural fest And each equivalent to to iit bombay MOOD INDIGO. In this fest which is hailed in the month of February every year huge sponsors are there and huge and very famous artists are invited to form perform in the fest. Talking about another fest named kaizen, It is a fest of nss society of iit Delhi. IIT Dilli has a excellent library and it is called Central Library it has a huge collection of books probably covering all the aspects possible and It's probably one of its kind considering research papers journals books availability. We as a student can issue books and Several copies of every book I present there in the library which in the students to issue them for their course curriculum and apart from that there are books which covers almost every possible topics the newest journals can be seen in the library and the publications as well currently our college has started a system Of exchanging books among the students which they feel that they don't need any longer. The facilities the college is offering of Highest quality in the classrooms are there projector white board, Blackboard, screen. The classrooms are very ventilated and have air conditioned. The tables are arranged in such a way that as you go away from the boards the elevation of the seats would go on increasing And it helps the students sitting far away from the teachers to have a good view of the screen. Talking about the support system provided in the classroom they are Emergency landline numbers provided t

Hostel Facilities

5

There are many hostels in IIT Delhi, Based on the hostel and the year In which the student is that decides the number of students in a room. Talking about mine in the first year there were three students in my room and in second year there are two students we live together in a room and there is also partition between the two beds So you have some privacy over there There and talking about the facilities there you will get a bed a table a chair 1 Almirah which is in the wall and you will also get a mirror Which is almost of the half of the size of a student there is also wooden rack which is fit on the wall at a considerable height So you will have enough space and there is good arrangement to keep the belongings and also the arrangement is good for studying purpose as well there is a fan and there is no scope for ac. The meal quality is good and the menu offers a wide range of food from fast food to nutritious food it has a balanced diet. You will get lunch dinner morning breakfast and evening breakfast in the morning breakfast you will have bread Milk coffee bourn vitta sprots And many more things If you want to stay in hostel you have to opt for the mess as well the hostels are affordable and they charge about 12,000 for a semester which is not a big amount I guess so you have to pay the hostel rent every semester and the missed rent every semester also initially you have to pay a registration fee venue take admission in the college and the security money is returned back to you when you graduate from the college I didnt opt for any locality I stay in the hostel only but the students of senior and pursuing higher education like doing masters and phd live outside the college In the adjoining area where they pay about 5000 for a month as room rent and they opt for food in the hostel mess There they have to pay about 110 for one lunch and there is mess Arrangement outside the college also

Admission

I got a decent rank in Jee Advanced 2023 and so in the counseling I opted for many colleges particularly iit and there different courses. So in fact if you are aware of the jee exam There we have to fill our own preferences in the in the counseling and according to our rank we have the options to choose from college as my rank was good I was getting different courses in different iit as I wanted to be night so I choose their mechanical engineering over there. I did not apply for any other colleges as I was aware that I will get the decent rank in JEE exam. My JEE mains exam went very well and I scored a good percentile So I was confident that I will get a good nit college even if I do bad in my jee Advanced exam. Talking about the admission process of my college that is iit Delhi I firstly have to appear in jee mains exam And you have to score above the cutoff for different categories in case you have done so you are eligible to appear in the jee advanced exam And also there are 2 papers for mains exam And for the advanced exam you must score 75% in your 12th. You can only sit for advanced exam in 12th and after 12th. You must be from maths background. Every year there is different cutoff To be eligible to appear in advance. The candidate should be among the top 250000 successful candidates including all categories in bachelor of engineering and bachelor of technology Paper of jee mains. The percentage of various categories to be shortlisted is 10% gen,27% obc ncl,15% SC,7.5%ST And the remaining 40% is open to all within each of the 5 categories 5% horizontal reservation is available for PWD candidates. To be eligible to appear for JEE advance 2025 The candidate should be born after 1 October 2000 Also there is a five year age relaxation for sc st and pwd. Talking about the number of attempts a candidate can attempt advance maximum I had two times in two consecutive years The candidate should have appeared for class 12 with physics chemistry and math as com

The number of students in UG 4 year program is 4312 and the number of students in UG 5 year program is 659 and the number of students in PG two year program is 3568. The number of faculty members is 687 in total the number of students each about 8400. so the ratio between students to faculty member is 12:1. in particular almost all the professors are liked by students but things turn around when a professor does not do good grading or does not teaches well but he makes the exam paper too hard for instance some professors give 6 point on average while others were lenient gives 7 point on average and others who are more more liked give 8 points on average so it depends on professor. So according to me it has been only three semesters according to me and the professor I do not like is SUDIPTO MUKHERJEE of Kinematics and dynamic of Machine which is thought to mechanical engineering Students in second year In their first semester. bcoz he does not teach well. One of the professor I like is Naresh Dhatla of solid mechanics who is a good prof And he teaches also well. his Teaching style is good . Talking about another professor who has joined recently he is an associate professor named Krishna Kant Agrawal who teaches us heat transfer. He does good grading and give good marks to students And is very lenient in giving marks. Talking about the number of exams there is one minor exam one major exam and two to three quizzes depending on the professor and for quizzes the syllabus is not the whole its chapter specific sometimes to or sometimes three and in major exam you have to cover the whole syllables so exam is Hard if you dont study well if we have studied throughout the semester. Of course you cant manage by studying just one day before the exam you have to study at least two or three days from the day of the exam so you will be able to score good marks and it is not that the exams are too easy so the syllabus is well defined And and the books are also known to us

Night Life

5

IIT Delhi curriculum is hectic And and after the long day classes its time for us to have chill and to gossip and do time pass with friends. There is facilities of gym in every hostel and there is also a common gym in the sac Area where you have to take membership by paying there is ccd in the campus there is tea Point in the campus and near to every hostel there is canteen. The Library remains open for almost throughout the day it closes from three in the morning till 8O clock in the morning otherwise it remains open There is nothing like restrictions on the movement of students they are free to move in and out of campus based on their choice and preference there is nothing like time segment unlike other colleges The famous hangout place outside the college is large just on the gate of iit Delhi where momos waale bhaiya can be seen And also There are many places within the campus like Rajdhani Holistics delhi16 It is totally safe for students to move at night safe campus

The fifth semester students become eligible for campus placements. The College organise placement, registration and shortlisting based on academic performance and semester marks. Many well-known companies visit the campus for hiring every year, including both mass recruitment and profile based offers students get opportunities in core companies as well as IT and consulting firms, the highest package offered in recent years has been competitive, and the average package is decent for most . A good percentage of students manage to secure placement through campus drives, but it also depends on students preparation and skill level students also get internships into placement offers. If a student does not get a campus placement, there are still good options for employability students to prepare for off campus placement, government exams or higher studies like Masters. Overall the placement environment is active and give students affair chance to start their careers.
