Course Curriculum Overview

2

coure curriculum changes every 10 years, the current one was made around 2014 and it has started to lose it's relevance as it's coming near to it's due date, it needs to get updated to the real world appications

Internships Opportunities

2

For intrenships too it is managed by office of career and services, however here too diversity hiring has been a major issue for most of the people specially people with merit who deserve to get a intern a lot earlier

Placement Experience

2

Campus placements are offered, managed by office of carrer services where students can apply for companies, almost all the reputed companies visit here but some dark truths include diversity hiring where they chose students not for their merit but because they belong to a certain gender or department

Fees and Financial Aid

tuition fee is around 1 lakh per semester, but if your family yearly income is less than 5 lakh then it's 33,333 per semester registration fees, and admission fees is paid on JOSAA as far as I remember, it might have changed over the last two years Merit cum mean scholarship is also available

Campus Life

5

Social experience with campus life is top notch, there are various cultural clubs and various sports clubs, all the sports facilities are provided, there are gyms in every hostel, library is good and well managed, there is computer services centre where people can go and study, decent performing computers are there to study and even render projects, apart from the college libraries literary club has it's own library where people can borrow non academic books, there are cafes and many night messes to fix our late night cravings

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel infrastructure specially of the older hostels is very poor, sometimes even ceiling falling and water dripping during the rainy season, hostel mess is decent and the food quality is good, however there is no option to opt out from it

Admission

Based on my rank I was getting several IITs but focussed on getting into older IITs since I was not getting circuital branch in any of the top 6 IITs I preffered college over department, I was getting the same department in IIT Bombay but IIT Delhi being closer to my hometown, i preffered it over IIT Bombay

Faculty

3

The faculty to student ratio varies from department to department, ranging from 1:50 to 1:150 exams are rigerious with sometimes 3 exams in one day, and generally all the exams getting over in 1 week, they are divided into minor and major exams along with quizzes and projects

Night Life

5

every hostel has a gym, and there is also a gym in mittal sports complex which requires a subscription, there are no restrictions over hostel timings, with a lot of hangout spots (no pun intended) IIT D is a nice place for night life

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from 6th semester onwards. The average package is around 20 LPA and the highest package is 85 LPA. The placements percentage for top branches is around 80% and many big companies like Amazon, Uber, Google, Microsoft, etc. offer placements. After my degree I plan on securing a placement on the tech field.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum as **fairly comprehensive and reasonably relevant**, especially in terms of building a strong foundation in core engineering concepts. One of the factors that influenced my decision to choose this course was the **structured curriculum covering important fundamentals such as programming, data structures, mathematics, and core engineering subjects**, which are essential for both technical roles and higher studies. The curriculum provides a solid theoretical base and helps develop analytical thinking, but for real-world applications students often need to complement it with **projects, internships, coding practice, and self-learning**, since some topics are still taught in a more traditional or theoretical way. In terms of improvements, the curriculum could benefit from **more industry-oriented electives, practical assignments, updated lab work, and interactive teaching methods such as case studies or project-based learning**. The exam system typically includes **two major exams per semester — a mid-semester exam and an end-semester exam — along with internal assessments, quizzes, and assignments**. The exams are generally **moderate in difficulty**, and students who attend classes and prepare consistently are able to perform well, though the evaluation tends to focus more on conceptual understanding and written exams rather than purely practical skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really liked physics and applications of physics so chose mechanical engineering, as ut has a lot of application of physics directly can really see how things work not just ideally but actually Curriculum is really good besides getting assignments which noone takes seriously everyone just copies , there must be much more practical stuff so that everyone learns but we do get that in tech teams but not directly as a student in college. There must be practical teachings and proper guidance proper high level machineary must be there, industry visits must be there and internships in such companies must be encouraged There are 5 exams of 1.5 hour considered as mid sems and 6 exams of 3 hours considered as endsems

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

The frequency of the exams is 2 times a year once in the month of December and once in the month of May. Internal exams (tests) are conducted in between to continuously evaluate you during the course. According to me, the exam should be conducted before itself, so that we can get more time for internship opportunities.
