Course Curriculum Overview

3

Course curriculum is mostly theory based, there are practical classes and practical applications but only to some extents. It would be great if the syllabus is more practical based, as it gets easier to understand things in this manner. There are certain paper which makes you industry ready- like medical diagnostics and biotechnology. But if you are studying Zoology you should pursue masters as well. And the course is more than enough to clear PG entrance exams.

Internships Opportunities

3

There are many interships available for non science fields with stipend upto 15k -20k per month. And for science related field the internships are limited with almost no stipend. But for research students can reach out to their professors and faculty and do projects liek pathfinder or maybe write research or review papers as well.

Placement Experience

4

Students are eligible to sit in placement in there 3rd(final year of graduation). We have a dedicated placement cell with top companies recruitments, like Deloite, EY etc. But for science background students it is a bit difficult to get placed, and even if they get any placement, their job is not related to their core subjects for example they get placement in tecahing, marketing, event management etc. But the package is same for them. You can get upto 11LPA package. And the minimum is 3-4 LPA. There are alot of offers hence mostly students get placed in commerce and arts departments, but science students opt for higher studies i.e. masters and phD

Fees and Financial Aid

Per year I had to pay around 17k-18k, the course duration is 3 years (1 more year which is optional) that rounds upto 50,000 for the whole degree. You should be able to clear CUET with good rank and marks to get this college, and ofcourse there is registration fee for the exam. After your successful admission you have to pay examination fee per semester exam to get your admit card. For subjects with practical examination there is extra charge. Fee waiver is available by the university for special cases. Scholarships of state and national level are applicable in the college but the student have to apply for it separately irrespective of the college.

Campus Life

4

There is an annual cultural fest- Reverie which is a 3 day long event consisting all the fun activities and shows with a celebrity guest. We have a Diwali mela as well, in which all the NGOs associated with college NSS set up their stalls in college, along with their performances and DJ for students. There are so many clubs and societies to be a part of. You can choose from classical to western dance or singi, drama, acting, filming, photography, debating, writing, quizzing, nss and gss, ncc, sports etc etc. Also there's a option for just volunteering in almost all the societies, wherein you dont have be a permanent member of the society and still can be a part in some way.

Admission

My reason for choosing this college was, it being a girls college with no restrictions and ofcourse a good curriculum (same of each college of DU) with neuroscience as DSE which is not in any other college of DU. This subject is really good with increasing demand in future. The locality- Green Park is also very safe with a metro station amd bus stands nearby. I got accepted in other colleges as well, because of my marks but i had to deny because of neuroscience. Admission process is quite famous now, all you have to do is clear CUET UG with good marks and a good rank to get Admission in Gargi as it is considered amongst the top DU colleges.

Faculty

4

Faculty, of specially science courses, is almost like your school teacher. They are always ready to complete their syllabus even if that need any extra class- they're willing to spend time on that. Except for a few teachers. In non- science courses the Faculty is not that strict, but they are also very helpful and empathetic towards students. There are allocated mentors for each student with whom you can discuss you academic as well as not academic problems and they're ready to help you. Only thing i didn't like is, that some older teachers are quite judgemental and there is a thing of favouritism amongst the teachers as well. If you dont approach teachers for any research work or even other opportunities you wont be getting any, as teachers don't really ask by themselves. There is semester examination that you need to clear. If you fail to appear or dont pass the exam you get the chance to reattempt the paper in the successive year, meanwhile you get to continue with your studies along with your batch. Although this doesn't usually happen as the exam pattern is quite repetitive and questions are not that difficult. Only about 2% would fail that type of exam, including the absentees.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Life science includes zoology botany and chemistry considering this combo I think the study material is quite okay in terms of topics chemistry connects school teaching with one step ahead learning . Zoology provides new insights on various topics . Botany covers deeper understanding of syllabus . So overall it's good . Hands on lab work meets the demand of the subject . Also the topics taught match with the type of questions asked in exam. Difficulty level i would say it's moderate for botany and zoology but for chemistry is quite tough. Time management is a much needed skill for examination purpose. For course curriculum i would say more focus on current situation should be laid rather than history .

The students become eligible for campus placements in the 3rd year of their graduation. Various companies offer multiple roles for placements on our campus like Nation With NaMo, Deloitte, KPMG, Accenture etc. and the no. of offers made usually varies between 250-400 depending on the batch. The average package is around 6.5-7 LPA and the highest usually varies from 13-15 LPA L. Usually 50 percent of the students get placed directly from campus and rest usually pursue some other academic programs or even off campus placements.

I think that the course curriculum is good and well managed . The curriculum has all necessary subjects related to our course as well as all other necessary subjects like human values and basic ethics. I find our course curriculum is apt for our course . Thought their is a lag for more practical learning and skills. It will be better if they add more practical learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of Electronics Hons and Electrical Engineering is same but makes it different is how we perceive it. We study the syllabus with theoretical aspects while the engineers with practical aspects. We have a chance to opt for the 4th year, which only comprises of Research. One of the optionals is Generic Elective and if you take GE from same department for all semesters, you will attain a minor degree. The Faculties and whole curriculum is great but the other optionals require improvement. The other optionals only make the Student Life hectic, that stumbles the Student's focus from Course track.
